One day I woke up and had this crazy idea that it would be great to have a “Lightening Online” T-Shirt made. No reason. It just seemed like good idea at the time. When it finally arrived I wondered what I thought I was going to do with one, single t-shirt. I guess I could host a giveaway. Provide a bit of fun and a thank you for my readers.
Then the idea hit me that it would be kind of cool to use the T-Shirt to host a BIGGER giveaway. The “Travelling T-Shirt” Giveaway. What if I could somehow get this t-shirt travelling far and wide and appearing on blogs near and far??? That could be kind of fun. I’d love to see what other bloggers might do with said t-shirt.
But I didn’t want it to end there. If other bloggers are going to join in the fun as well as helping me promote my blog, there should be something in it for them right?
And there will be.
One participant is going to receive a cash gift from Lightening.
How much?
The number of bloggers who photograph and blog the t-shirt x $4 (so 10 bloggers = $40 and 20 bloggers = $80 and so on). So the more people the t-shirt gets around to, the more $$ some lucky person will be gifted. 
The winner will also have their photograph of the t-shirt placed in my sidebar with a link to their blog.
How do you participate?
1. You must have a blog.
2. You need to take a photograph of the t-shirt. You can be wearing it or do something else creative using it (please try to keep it undamaged). It is important that the section of the t-shirt shown above is showing clearly in your photograph. Other than that, how you choose to display the t-shirt is limited only by your own creativity.
3. Post your photograph as well as the following information onto your own blog:
“The Travelling T-Shirt has come from Lightening Online and is making it’s way around the world until December 1st when one lucky participant will be voted a winner and Lightening will gift that person a cash amount (determined by the total number of participants). For more information please visit the Travelling T-Shirt page.”
4. Select a blogger to send the t-shirt on to. How you do this is entirely up to you. Please try to send the t-shirt on as soon as possible (within a week) to ensure that as many people get to post a photograph of it as possible. Remember that the more people the t-shirt makes it to, the larger the jackpot at the end.
5. The travelling t-shirt competition will close on December 1st 2008. At this time, I will select a number of my favourite entries. These entries will be put up for a vote and the one with the highest number of votes will be gifted the final cash jackpot and their photograph (with a link to their blog) will be placed in my sidebar for a minimum of 3 months.
Notes:
- Every participant that hosts the t-shirt will receive a link back to their post on this page.
- Some additional prizes may be added throughout the duration of the contest. If you’d like to sponsor a prize, please let me know via the contact page on this blog. Sponsors will be acknowledged at the top of this page as well as on the post mentioning all winners.
- Cash “gift” will be paid via Paypal or a gift certificate from a store of the recipients choice that accepts paypal.
- A random prize draw will also be offered to everyone who comments on the final voting post (enabling non-bloggers to get involved).
