Bucket List
Farmboy and I watched a movie the other night called “The Bucket List”.
Then today on Simple Savings there is some discussion about Bucket Lists.
I know I have written short term goals like my 37 Things To Do Before I Turn 38 list.
But I’ve never really “dreamt big” so to speak.
The biggest dream I’ve had (other than getting married and having kids - great dreams by the way), was to do our 14 week trip. It took a decade to make it happen but it was so AWESOME and so much fun planning and preparing. I feel like my life has been in a funk since we got back.
So, today, I’m going to make a start on writing a Bucket List.
Some “dreams” might be just what the doctor ordered.
Here goes.
Lightening’s Bucket List
aka “things I’d like to achieve before I kick the bucket”
1. Run 12km (also on my short-term list but….)
2. Go on a Cruise
3. Take my kids on a Cruise
4. Go to Disneyland
5. Spend winter at Mission Beach
6. Convince hubby to get out of sheep (I know they’re our bread and butter but I’m a bit “over” them)
7. Do another “big trip” (this time around the West Coast and up to Darwin)
8…..I should be able to come up with more than 7 things right?
I guess it’s a start.
Funny how most of them are holidays! LOL.
So, what’s on your “Bucket List”? I need some ideas people!

What’s on my Bucket List?
Nothing.
Not a damn thing.
I don’t have long term dreams that I want to achieve before I die.
Working towards those sorts of goals is just too much like…well, work.
And I’m just too lazy. I’m a drifter.
Drifting through life.
Ha Ha.
Hrrm, I would like to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane; get published (which technically I sorta have - if having a paper I wrote given to everyone at a conference… but really get something published would be cool)
Umm, what else would I like to do??? I’ve done a lot of things I had on my list (get an education was one of them!)
I think there’s probably other stuff I’d like to do (can’t say camping is high up on the list, lol!)
I don’t have a bucket list….my things are simple stuff that really should be achieved in normal real life, that any other normal people would probably be doing as part of their lives…..have a holiday…any holiday….anyplace…I don’t even care if it’s 100km down the road at the beach….just somewhere for at least a week….with no jobs that have to be done…just rest…read…relax….I want a lovely garden…I’m starting to work on that now…I’ve put some fruit trees in….I’ve collected cuttings and started growing them and started my first handing basket ball….just got to spray a whole lot of areas to stop the horrid wretched take over everything grass….I want to get fit…but with my body that’s probably not going to happen…I want to get fitter than I am now would be a better thing to say….this needs to be happening now….or I will be at my bucket and kicking it sooner rather than later…getting a better education…that I am hoping to start….as long as i can get this essay written today and it makes sense….then I have to wait to see if i’ve got in the course….which is only a stepping stone….if i pass that i might be able to do a uni course…if i can afford it….which is probably not….but I still have to get through an interview process to even start the stepping up program anyway….
Hmmmm. As much as I like the fact that life is partly luck and partly the result of our own efforts, I wouldn’t be unhappy if I got to do these:
* have a Christmas (with shopping spree) in New York
* see Sapphire fall in love with someone amazing who truly cares for her and deserves her
* visit Japan
* retire in Port Douglas
* buy Love Chunks a beach house and a boat
* be paid a huge advance to write a book of my choosing
* tell Mr Migraine and my Black Dog of Depression to never return
* die peacefully in my sleep (and not like the four screaming passengers in my car)
