I bought her a kit (from Heirloom Body Care) for christmas a few years back, and she has had fun with it. She also likes making body products - hand creams, body scrubs, bath melts, etc. Also fun, I do a little of that as well, but she is better at it than I am. If that's what appeals to you, then it would make a great hobby. My sister does, & I’m tempted to try.
