Paul Keating said Australia doesn't need farmers??
No wonder the country's in trouble!
Where the heck does he think we'd get our food from???

Usually I don't worry too much about voting, both parties seem to be always headed by promise breakers.
This time might be the same, but I'm going to give Julia my vote. I think she deserves a chance. After all the men have had chances pretty much forever and not accomplished much. Maybe she can do more for the people, in terms of water for our state, health and education...

I agree Kelli. The negativity is awful. At least this election we haven't seen huge smear campaigns (in comparison to some of the past elections). I too quite enjoy watching the coverage on election night. At least these days I do. Which kind of surprises me given my complete apathy toward politics (which obviously is not really apathy as such). I do like your idea of a big block of chocolate while watching it too - might try that this year! :-)

It is the negativity of it all that gets me down! I just don't feel like any party, including the big 2, have a vision for our country. I am election junky - I love curling up in front of Antony Green on ABC on election night with a big block of chocolate. But the leadup - not interested in hearing why the other person is bad.

Someone asked me what Canberra was like during an election period, expecting me to say it was pumping. But, nup the place is quiet, not a politician to see, even the ones standing for election here. No votes to be gained in Canberra so no one is interested. Though, I did nearly run straight into Kate lundy, one of our senators tonight. Luckily I stopped the car and she waited to pull out in hers.
