Cold Blooded Murderer
This week’s mission is clear.
Murder as many little green things with purple or white flowers as possible!!!
I even have a spray gun that feels something like a gun (not that I’ve ever actually handled a gun) as I shoot at these blasted weeds!
AND…
The dye in my mix is HOT PINK!!!!
So I am flat out spraying the paddock “Lightening colour”. 
You can see where I’ve been by the hot pink patches all over the paddock.
Time is short and the weeds are winning the fight.
So this week, I’m spending as many hours as I can possibly manage, killing as many weeds as I can possibly manage.
Wish there was a “non chemical” way to deal with them. But for now, this is the only way we have.
When I close my eyes at night, this is what I see:
I stare at them for hours on end and then when I close my eyes, I can still see them!

I think that is why I hate gardening. I can never ever get teh weeds in control.
Methinks I need some Lightening Pink Murder Spray.

Those certainly look like some pretty weeds! But weeds none-the-less. Hope the “power of pink” takes out those little trouble-makers!

What are they? That flower doesn’t look like any weed I’ve ever seen around here, so I’m curious about what it is.
Love the purple flowered weed! We have those here (at least I think they are the same) and they grow in anything… like bitumen, rocks where-ever. But aside from their weediness, they are pretty (I like the gray-green foliage too) and they don’t have burrs. Do you know what they are called?

Can you put the stuff in a spreader and drive around in the tractor spreading it? Quicker….Or you could get a crop duster licence and spray them by air. Ha ha. How big is the paddock? I’m thinking of your trigger finger….Ouch.
They’re called Silverleaf Nightshade (sometimes referred to as “Tomato Weed” - and yes, they’re related to the tomato family). This year seems to be particularly bad for them (ie we have a LOT more than usual).
We can boomspray (or aerial spray but that’s not really necessary while there is no crop in the paddock) weeds (and do) but the most effective rates of chemical for controlling this particular weed make it too expensive to do en-masse. Farmboy is about to finish the rest off with the boomspray but we’ll only control them for 1 year (whereas what I was doing tends to kill them for around 5 years).
The farm is over run with weeds, with purple flowers, at the moment. I wonder if they are the same. I will have to have a good look next time.

What makes the poison hot pink? What is the poison? I would love to use hot pink spray on our weeds. It would be great to see where I’ve been.
The hot pink is a dye we add to the mix so that we can see where we’ve been. The chemical I was using is glysophate (commonly known by the brand RoundUp). It’s one of the “less potent” chemicals. Farmboy doesn’t like me working with the more potent ones (which is fine by me!).
