Smiley Saturday: Something Pink….

Remember a little while ago I hinted that I was getting something pink for Christmas?
Well, our Christmas has come a little early this year so now I can show you.

Do you know how long it is since I’ve owned a bike?
Hang on a minute while I work it out……
I was 12 and now I’m …..
……
……
I’ve run out of fingers but let’s just say it’s been a while.
I gave up riding due to 3 catastrophic events:
1. We moved to Melbourne from Port Pirie and Melbourne has WAY more cars!!!!
2. I tried to ride it down our street (at our new place) which had a HUGE hill and stacked it first time!!!
3. They brought in a new law saying you HAD to wear a helmet.
Truth be told, number 3 was the major deciding factor. I mean, what self respecting, almost 13 year old wants to be seen dead in a helmet???? Different these days - it’s more “normal” now.
It even saves me having to do my hair properly before I ride to the shop.
Only then you have to wear your helmet in the shop so no-one can see how bad your hair looks!!!!
ROFLOL.
Anyway, Farmboy has been trying to convince me for years now that we should buy one another bikes.
I keep putting him off.
Until we went to the Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo on our big trip and hired bikes to ride around on.
And I HAD A BALL!!!!
So, this year we bought each other bikes for Christmas.

And no, you haven’t missed Christmas.
Because we’re having a short break at his parents shack now, we decided to get them early.
We’ve gone for a ride every day that we’ve been here so far.
The kids are loving it!
And because all the holiday makers haven’t moved in yet, it’s been nice and quiet traffic wise.
There has been one little problem….
Given it’s been a while since I’ve ridden a bike….
Can anyone say saddle sore???? ROFLOL.

You lived in Port Pirie? I grew up there. My brother and I would ride our bikes all the way to Crystal Brook because their swimming pool was deeper and had a diving board. We’d spend the day there, then ride home in the evening, getting home about 9pm.
I like the look of your bikes. The only pink bikes I’ve ever seen before this are little girls ones with training wheels and streamers.
I don’t ride anymore, my hips and back can’t cope.
I did. For 3 years when I was a kid. My dad worked for Prests. We used to ride everywhere - although not as far as Crystal Brook.
That’s great. My husband & I bought each other bikes for our anniversary this year. He’s been at me for ages saying how great it would be to ride again. And it has been great fun. Enjoy your new bike & hope the soreness goes away soon!
apparently you can get a really comfy seat to replace the stock standard one. I haven’t found one yet, I want one for my exercise bike.
If you find one let me know!
I have a color blue bike. I love color pink
Love the new bike - of course you had to have a pink one !!!!. I only started riding again a few years ago and love it.

Beautiful bikes!! We bought ourselves a set last Summer, and LOVE them. Just hate magpie season!!
FUN! Happy bike riding!
Oh…and the color…PERFECT!
Can never go wrong with pink anything!
I have a bike. I’ve ridden it 3 times. It’s in the garage, covered in cobwebs.
Merry Christmas.
LOL! We have just started going for rides as a family - we have a perfectly god river trail, not to mention a lovely rail trail as well all within a very short distance of home. I am very excellent at going fast and very wobbly at going slowly! And crikey, I hears you LOUD and clear about the tender Lady Parts. And I have one of those special seats!
Very cool !
I have hardly ridden my bike since I rode from Melbourne to Sydney 21 years ago …I did my quota back then.
