Jodi all you can be is prepared and united in your fire plans and discuss with your kids. I believe that God will protect you too!

Did hear on the radio this morning there is already lots of bungles happening with the new system though with kids already on country busses on Eyre Pen. before the alert was placed so they had to open schools. I personally think i'd prefer to know my kids are safe at school which is generally in a township of some size! Less to worry about at home!

Meanwhile get out those ice cubes and a good DVD and rest up!

I hope you guys are staying safe....

Everyone here is still figuring out what all the new ratings mean and when exactly school/kinder will close and if/when we should leave.... so hard to make those decisions isn't it.

I will keep you and yours in my prayers as you deal with those nasty fires. We live in Texas and aren't really bothered by fire until about Feb-March when the winds start howling and grass fires catch and spread in the country. City life is for me. The only real weather threat around these parts is Tornados. We had one hit while we were out for a date night a few years ago. Luckily it didn't hit the movie theater we were at but it wasn't far off. It hit downtown damaging a few tall buildings and causing a need for major renovation. No one was seriously hurt because it was after business hours, thank goodness. Tornados and Hail are our major concerns here. A few hundred miles south and you get to the coast line where they are in the midst of hurricane season now. My sister was out power for 1 month when hurricane Ike hit Galveston in 2008.

Sorry to gab on and on. It is early morning and I think I have drank too much coffee.

Have a great day off.
