Present Dilemma

I need some help.

Trailer Boy turns 6 in just over a month.

And I haven’t bought a single thing for his birthday!!!!

Which is totally unusual for me.

However, what is even MORE unusual is that I don’t have a CLUE what to get him.

I’m not sure I have EVER had this dilemma before.

He doesn’t need a new bike (he has Lleyton’s old one and we’ll probably buy him a new one next year).

He would like a Nintendo DS but I still feel that he is a bit young.  Lleyton was given a Gameboy when he was almost 7 (and then saved and bought his own DS later) and Singstar Princess only got her DS last year for her 8th birthday.

He does want more matchbox cars.  He ALWAYS wants more matchy cars.  We have like a gazillion but it’s always what he goes for when he has money to spend.

But it would be nice to get him 1 major thing.  The type of thing he doesn’t get to buy with his own money.  Unless it’s something special (like the DS) we usually look to spend around $100.

Anyone got any suggestions?

    I gave DS6 a DS for his 6th birthday. So not much help. But he turns 7 on Saturday. Just in case there is any inspiration I can tell you I have bought him a Geelong footy jersey, 2 star wars vehicles which are large & over priced, but did find one on a too good to refuse special, and then books & CDs etc. Hmm, probably not much help to you.

    Does he like Ben 10 or Bakugan - that is all the rage with boys that age here. And there is heaps of stuff you could get him.

    What about a scooter? I know it is a bit like a bike, but my boys tend to use theirs rather than their bike.

    Or a CD player - both my boys love theirs.

    My nephew is turning 6 next week. I got him some Lego City vehicles. His Mum and Dad are getting him the Lego City police station.

    Lots of the boys in prep at Annies school are getting Lego for their 6th and 7th birthdays.

    Something biggish to go with the matchbox cars? Like a town and garage kit that doubles as car storage? Do they even make these? I haven’t got a clue.

    I’m with Marita. My present of choice for all boys 12 and under is Lego.

    I was going to suggest river’s idea - although being a bit of tomboy I still love lego as well….we used to make lego villages and drive our cars through it.

    Awesome suggestions. Thanks guys! I can’t believe I had forgotten about the big lego sets!!! And today I saw one that is a garage so kind of combines the idea of a matchbox car set with lego! :) Go me!!! Now if I could just get it at 20% off as it was slightly over budget at $130 or so.
