Travel Weary
I’m tired.
Soooooo tired.
If anyone thinks you come back from a trip like this all refreshed and rested… WRONG.
Not me anyway.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great fun. AWESOME in fact.
But it is tiring. Especially with 3 kids!
I think perhaps we’ve been overdoing the whole “sight-seeing” thing. So much to do, so little time.
Of the 4 days we were in Hervey Bay we had 3 full, action-packed days.
It was great and I’m glad we did it but now we all need a couple of days to recover.
You just can’t keep up that pace for as many weeks as we’re away.
As we were leaving Hervey Bay, I discovered that my purse had been completely cleared out of cash. Even the hidden pockets.
Thankfully they left the cards behind so I’m not having to go through the whole rigamarole of replacing them all.
It still leaves you feeling so violated though.
And annoyed that we let our guard down even for a bit.
Anyway, such is life. I just hope they needed the money more than we did.
But I think the whole experience has taken it out of me a bit.
So, we’re now on the Sunshine Coast. So many things to see and do here. But I think we’ll concentrate on the Sunshine and the Coast for now. We’re in a lovely caravan park very close to the beach. I don’t think it’ll hurt any of us to just “chill” for a few days. That’s if I can last a few days.
I don’t do “chill” very well I’m afraid.

Wow, how unforunate- I know that experience and as you say there was a blessing they didn’t take the cards- that would have had you stressed out
Go and chill, by the beach- let the sound of the waves relax you. as Sharon says sounds like it is time to listen to your body.

Sorry to hear about the nasty experience. Are you going to visit Australia Zoo & the Big Pineapple while you are at the Sunshine Coast? Enjoy the beach.
Me thinks you need a pedicure, manicure, massage, ….. even a day off… any kids programs coming up nearby?
Oooh yes, a day at a spa type place just for you to chill, a soothing massage sounds like just what you need.
Bloody pickpockets! Foil them by keeping your money in a money belt strapped around your waist.

I have been reading along but not had much chance to comment.
We are planning (well thinking) of traveling a van next year to WA.
Australia Zoo is a must , they let you get out to get things out of your van or car , and they have heaps of van parking if you get there early.
I love the Sunshine Coast. Rainbow beach is a must.
I hope you get a chance to relax too.
Oh, I hate to hear that you got your purse picked thru. That happened to me while I was at school. They only got a few dollars and I was fortunate they didn’t steal my parent’s gas card or my check book.
Like my father in law used to say “It’s only money and we can always make more.” Our lives are what is the most important. Thank goodness you or your family weren’t hurt.
I hope you enjoy Sunshine Coast and get a few days of much needed R&R.
