Trish - I’ve always assumed caravan parks were cheaper than Laundromats but I really should check that out. One should never assume!!! Thanks for the hint about the line. I’m doing better in that department now.

Lynette - The blogging bit is easy. I can do that in the car as we drive along. It’s finding connections that is proving more challenging.

Sharon - LOL. I dunno, I’ve been pretty grumpy today. If I’d brought you, we might no longer be friends.

B - yep, apparently it’s been snowing in Orange which makes the winds in Dubbo freezing!!!! Lightning Ridge does sound interesting. We’ve come across a number of people heading there. I’m sure we’ll get there one day but for now, the kids have had enough of the car so we’re keeping our km’s down as much as we can.

River - no blog reading!!!! How disastrous. It’s a wonder you’re still with us and not in the looney bin!!! Glad you’re back.

Guera - lovely to hear from you. I imagine Orange would be cold - might be a good thing we didn’t head there. Going North now so should start to warm up.

Just caught up on your travels - good to see the trip is going well so far. What an adventure! You’ve just travelled through an old home of mine (Cobar) - bit of a blink and you miss it place, isn’t it? Luckily I was only there for about a year. Had many a trip to Dubbo while we were there. From there we went on to Orange for nearly 2 years which is probably where that snow is. Man that was a cold (but lovely) place. Hope you get some warmer weather soon.

Let me guess, it was snowing at Orange! lol I’d believe that from the size of the frost at our place this morning. It looked like it had snowed here (doesn’t though)

Glad you are having such a great time already. Those desert sculptures at Broken Hill are gorgeous. I want to take my kids to lightening ridge. It’s a really interesting place with the opal mines, bottle house, hot springs etc, might be worth your while detouring that way on your way up to QLD

This post brought back great memories for me. I have a great photo of Steph and Scott on that elephant statue…although in MY photo you can actually see the elephant statue…now if you’d brought ME along you would have all these great family photos of all of you!

Thanks for sharing about one of my fav places!! full of memories that was, especially that bit about the chilly due to nearby snow.. i used to live in thermals under my good work clothes on those days!!! And guess what? i never stepped a foot inside the old dubbo gaol when i lived there!! but did go to the zoo regularly for church picnics.. with an annual pass…

PS dont tire yourself out trying to keep up with blogs if you need a rest!!

sounds like you are having a ton of fun.
When we traveled for 6 wks in our caravan we strung a line inside (from the poptop ezy lifters) to dry the clothes during the day as we drove along.
The caravan got quite warm even on cooler days
Are laudromats outside of caravan parks cheaper ?
Did you see the tortoises eating pineapple tops …
