Katy - it would seem that most of us need a “dumping ground” these days. Stuff coming out our ears. I’ve done an hour so far and REALLY happy with how it’s looking. I actually LIKE going in there now!!!! Fingers crossed Farmboy will get inspired and do his stuff too…or not…. We’ll see.

B - I think that’s the thing. It’s a good opportunity to get a few jobs done while I’m inspired and focused. If only that little thing called “life” didn’t keep getting in my way. LOL.

River - you’re right. It does. Problem is I’m a “what if I need it someday” kind of hoarder. Oh, and of course, the procrastination. On the doing. On the decision making. You name it and I’ll procrastinate on it.

Sharon - not having an office would be awful with trying to run a business. I don’t know how you cope!!!!

Leanne - good point. Although I’ll enjoy going away knowing the place looks half decent. Pretty happy with how things are starting to come together. I have had to do 3 years catch up decluttering after not being well for that time so it’s nice to feel on top of things again. It’ll never be perfect but at least it’s better than it was.

Wow - only one month. It’ll be here before you know it and then a piled up study won’t matter. You’ll be too busy having the adventure of a lifetime.

I wish I had a study. Everything just ends up piled on the kitchen table, gets moved to the kitchen bench. Gets moved to the top of the filing cabinet (which is in the lounge room). Eventually when it’s in danger of falling off and ending up all over the floor it gets sorted….so I guess you could call that a system!

Your study/office needs three large bins labelled, pay these, read and reply, burn these. And a file cabinet for stuff that needs to be kept, like receipts for taxes etc.stand in the middle of the room, grab a handful of papers, sort by the toss into a bin method. Then shove the bins against the wall in a neat line. Keep the desk clear at all times. Instant tidy.

What is it with the study being such a dump ground??! Ours is the same. We can shut the door on it when visitors come, so it becomes our dump ground. For papers. For artwork. For recipes. For equipment. Miscellaneous bit of anything!!! We tidy it up, and a week later it’s back to the way it was, despite ‘organising’ everything.

I’m sure with 2 hours on it, you’ll get it looking presentable!
