Smiley Saturday : Does This Make Me Strange?
That a new washing machine gets me all excited????
It seems like a strange topic to be writing about for Smiley Saturday.
But it’s all shiny and new with fancy buttons and light up display.
It almost makes washing FUN!!!!
Our old one (which wasn’t all that old really), broke last week and we’ve been trying to work out what to do. Fix it or buy a new one?
The “greeny” in my wanted to fix the old one. I think it’s awful how much stuff ends up in landfill because it’s not worth fixing.
The “thrifty” in me could see the futility in getting it fixed. You spend half the money of a new one and something else could go wrong anytime.
Not to mention that the new one is more water and power efficient than the older one.
But, I haven’t gotten to the best bit yet…
It PLAYS ME A TUNE when the load is finished!!!!
That REALLY made me smile.
No BEEEEEEEPPPPPP!!!!! Just a friendly little tune.
I’m still not sure whether being so excited over a washing machine means I need to get a life….

My favourite:

I often hate the way my chin looks in photos and have noticed that in the few photos I do like of myself, I am not looking straight at the camera.

Hey, I understand getting excited about a new washing machine!! I’ve done the same thing!
I love front load washers–they’re wonderful!! 
I understand you very well I had the same feelings when I had to buy a new one 2 years ago ! and my cats too it was a new TV screen to them !
Yep, felt that about this time last year when I got my new machine. Maybe the same brand, mine plays a little tune when it’s finished as well.
Tell the truth now. You bought the machine because it plays you a little tune, didn’t you?
Sadly I too would be very happy with a new washer. Not quite sure about playing a tune though. I have the ‘beep’ switched off as it’s a cross between a beep and a car horn……gives me heart failure!
As for the three quarter face shot, one of my daughter’s friends is a model. In every single photograph of her she always adopts that pose. My daughter spends far too much time trying to catch her off guard and not ‘in pose.’

I wonder if I’ll remember to try the pose. I’m not one who has her picture taken often anyway. This is a really awesome tune - I’m sure you’d like it

Sharon - I will have you know I DID get a life. I had dinner with some HILARIOUS people on Saturday night. Not sure when I last laughed so much!!!!!
Not strange at all. Washing machines are, in my opinion, one of the greatest blessings of technology.
Mine beeps and I guess it’s handy, but I have come to really detest it’s nagging little beep. LOL. Which is odd, because I actually do like hanging clothes out (which is also probably somewhat odd).
