Smiley Saturday: Time For Winter Sport
Today is the BIG day!!!!
Football and Netball season begins!
Our first game is a home game so my day starts at 8.30am with a stint in the kitchen. It’s going to be a long day I think!!!!
Here are some things this season that are making me smile:
1. Trailer Boy has started training and looks so cute running around out there. He won’t play for a year or so yet but they do have mini games at half-time of the A-grade which he LOVES!!!!
2. Singstar Princess is playing her very first game (well, she did fill in a little last year but this is her first in uniform).
3. Lleyton has been voted Captain for his team. He’s quite excited - and well should be! :) As he’ll only be there for half the season, the vice-captain will take over from him then and the team has elected a “vice-vice-captain” that will step up to vice-captain when that happens. I think he’ll make an awesome captain. He’s a natural leader and does LOVE his footy.
And in Smiley news not related to football or netball….
Singstar Princess won a colouring in competition at our local newsagency:
It’s big but not quite as big as it appears in the photo. She’s pretty stoked and her entry has now been sent off to be judged in a state competition.
Well, I hope you’re finding a reason to smile on this Smiley Saturday.

Looking at the uniform I think you also call football football and not soccer !
They looks so grown up in their sports uniforms. But where is the photo of you in yours???
We still have 2 weekends until soccer season starts here. Next Saturday will be the last one where the morning will be relaxing. I will definitely relish it.
But it is pretty cool to watch your kids participating & having fun, isn’t it?

I’ve decided to ask one person to stand out each week because playing ten while trying to play myself will just do my head in. Steph has volunteered this week so that means I’d like you to have a go at WA. Just one quarter. We will work on it on Thursday. Just thought I’d give you some warning!

Trish - thanks. I sure hope it doesn’t multiply either!!!! I have to admit I would have prefered it if she won a packet of textas or something!!!! Oh well…she loves it.
Maddy - thanks. I’m just glad they have the opportunity and the interest in sport.
Gattina - oh yeah, that all gets confusing doesn’t it. Football/soccer etc. Ours is Australian Rules and uses an oval shaped ball (bit bigger than a Rugby ball).
Kelli - I had another look after reading your comment and you’re right. It does make them look more grown up! As for the photo of me - ROFLOL. Mine’s a little tighter than Singstar Princesses is on her. We did take one of us together but I’m a bit chicken to post it!
Grampy - LOL. Oh, you and Kelli will have me feeling bad about not wanting to post the pic with me in it!!!!
Sharon - me? freak out? surely not!!!! ROFLOL. 10 eh? Where did they all come from? So, can I have my “sit out” in the later part of the season? Like when I’m not here? Pretty please????
