Smiley Saturday : School Assembly

smiley-saturday-2.JPG

Trailer Boy’s class hosted a school assembly this week.  They hold them twice a term and each class gets a chance to host.  It’s always rather cute watching the Receptions hosting an assembly. :)

Here he is sitting on stage at the end of their “opening act” which was a dance.  He had to somersault down the aisle (which I missed on the camera from where I was sitting) and then go up on stage and walk along a balance beam before sitting down on stage.

After he came down from the stage, he spotted me sitting up the back:

Kids love seeing their parents at a school function don’t they?  At least at this age.

And to top it all off, he got given an award!

Unfortunately, I had trouble getting a decent shot.  They move so fast and my camera is pretty slow.

Singstar Princess also had an upfront role this assembly.  Her class did an alphabet rap.  She was right in the front row with all the “short ones” (oh boy do I remember how that feels!!!!)

It was a lovely assembly and not too long (which is always good).  I went from there straight to a Tupperware party so had a lovely morning out. :)

I remember being in the front a lot too, but as a “shortie” never twigged that it was because I was short. I always thought it was because we were the best. Similar thing in singing class. Teacher would walk along the rows and single out several kids and send them to sit down and read. I thought it was because we all sang so well we didn’t need lessons. It never once occured to me that my singing was atrocious. My ego must have been huge.
Dina is right, your children are gorgeous.

It’s always such a fun to look at the own kids’ performances, I remember when my son had such things !

I love going to assembly! Yesterday TJ’s class was showing off their ‘recycled machines’ made from boxes and other recycled materials.

    Your kids are lovely

The kids are wonderful and look like they had fun. That is important. Nice to hear that you were there.
I was average height so I got to blend in with the crowd in most cases.
    Thanks for sharing.
