Think i have been dreaming all night of the many caravans and components i saw yesterday…. yes I also felt there were so many gimmicks one could but but never ever use….. but I did love those little weeny dish drainers…… great for kiddies…. and i also saw those foldalines……what a great idea.

Stuffy - yeah, I’ve been going through that place by place and gotten lots of ideas from it already.

Prizetastic - the car is important. It was one of the things we looked at when purchasing our Pajero. Although the good thing about the caravan we bought is that it’s relatively small to tow compared to some of the thumping big full-sized vans you can buy.

Lynette - those 5th-wheelers are something else aren’t they! The worse thing was, it was so busy it was difficult to get a look in! What day did you go? As for the dreampot, I saw her put the dumplings in but didn’t get to try any. The bread is interesting although not sure if that’s something I could be bothered with while travelling. But it does go to show that you’re only limited by your imagination when it comes to what the dreampot can do. My biggest camping tip is to just “do it”. Don’t wait until you have the “right” equipment etc. Just make the time to do it and you’ll gradually aquire bits and pieces along the way. I think a lot of people go out and get kitted out with everything that opens and shuts and it sits in the shed. For the most part, simpler really is better (less effort to pack up and go). I’ll think about writing a general post about our adventures so far.

Sharon - Never be sorry for hijacking my blog - that’s all part of the blog community. I love that if I don’t post for a few days - some of your start talking to one another in the comments. We’re a bit the same as you re a Winnebago vs a 5th-wheeler (for when we have no kids). Pros and Cons for each really. Have fun christening that camper trailer! They’re so much nicer than a tent!!!

We are giving it it’s first run next weekend when we go to the Barossa for a Christening (I’m a God Parent, how exciting!). We have used my parents camper trailer many times but are really looking forward to fitting one out just the way we want to.

The big Winnebago trip is planned when the kids are off our hands. We are having trouble deciding whether we want a winnebago or a van. I want to take my cat! And he could happily sleep on the bed of a winnebago while we travel….plus I could go watch TV if the scenery isn’t very interesting. But with a van you can unhook and go see all sorts of places that a winnebago can’t go….decisions, decisions!

Even hubby liked it as second best against the huge Winnebago. THere was also a magnificent 5 wheeler outside with a real dining table for 4 and 2 recliners…. and the bed was upstairs like royalty… i did wonder where the spa was though…..

I also saw some more Dreampot demos and didnt realise you could cook bread in it…. i must follow that up …… the golden syrup dumplings they gave us to taste teste were yummilicious!

We are dreaming but decided we had better make more use of our tent etc while we save….. or inherit, dare i say it!

Maybe you could post on camper trailer/ tenting tips one time….
