Are You Tired Of People Whining About The Heat Yet?

Cos maybe that’s a little too bad! Wink

Cos it’s hot!!!!

SMOKIN’ HOT!!!

Like 48C Hot!!!! For Days!!!!

We’ve been driving into town to pick the kids up from school because there isn’t any air-conditioning on their bus and they all struggle with getting sick from the heat (like blood noses, headaches and so on).

To top it all off, we’re heading off to the Big Smoke! The worst place to be during a heat wave. Particularly now that all the buildings have heated up beyond belief. Yet still we go because we have medical appointments that really shouldn’t be put off any longer.

Here’s hoping we survive!!! I don’t hold out much hope for my poor garden surviving our absence though. *sigh*

Yes, it is summer and yes, we do live in a hot part of the country. But this is extreme, even for us.

It’s the opposite here in Canada. It’s cold and full of snow. Yesterday we got over 1 foot of snow.

Usually it’s us Qlders who have to bear awful heat as soon as school returns. And our kids sit in unairconditioned classrooms and expected to learn! Go figure!!! I feel for all the southern states atm. While I prefer summer to winter, extreme heat is unbearable by any standards. Be thankful though that you don’t have as much humidity to go with it! And enjoy air con! I couldn’t live without mine!

Wow, where I live in Europe and it’s snowing right now. So imagining a heat wave is pretty impossible to me right now. From one extreme into the other, why can’t there always be a semi-hot-cold weather and just keep everyone happy :D

I’m having to be careful when I work because my damn computers keep automatically switching off when their temperature gets to high. I finally get Jr Stuffy back to school and now I can’t use that time to write because my computers don’t like 40+ weather! Doh!

You know what I hate? I hate it when people come in to my office and say “hot enough for you?” What am I supposed to say to that? “No, not nearly hot enough yet, I prefer it well above 50″.

Makes you think that hell must be pretty darn hot. Lets make it a point not to go there!

Have a safe trip. Try to stay cool.

    Extreme? YES!
    Had enough? YES!
And I’m sick of customers who tell me I’m lucky to be working in the cool of Coles. We’re WORKING. Lifting heavy bags of stuff. Most of it lately huge amounts of soft drinks. We’re generating body heat. Not so cool after 5 hours….
Still, gotta appreciate the airconditioning, especially more so since I don’t have it here at home.
    (climbs back into cold bathwater…)
Which “big smoke” are you heading to?

I generally try not to whine about the heat, because I know that there are people who would be feeling it a lot worse. Like an electrician crawling through a roof, or a landscaper digging a trench. It kinda makes me appreciate the ‘cool’ tin shed I work in.
