I've almost given up on any space being clean and tidy for longer than it takes me to turn around and make a cup of tea. I kid you not this week I cleared the couch and made a cup of tea to sit down, and by the time I'd made it there was toys all over it again. Needless to say I lost it. Kids are the same everywhere. In vain I tried to tell them, if they kept their own room tidier and made the bed properly, their rooms would be just as nice as mine. Today was one of them, I even tried to get the girls to clean up after themselves but ended up yelling at them which was counter productive so just gave up. Sometimes it is better for all our sanity if Mummy just ignores the mess, but it is so hard when the mess is in your peaceful place. I have those days to.
