Is It True…
…… that one day I’ll wander around my house wishing there were toys to pick up?
Because right now I’m kind of wishing that might happen.
My lounge room is littered with toys. All set out in a lovely “game” mind you, not scattered willy-nilly. Still, the lounge is supposed to be my “haven”. My place where visitors can enter my home without falling over stuff. The kids have the family room and their bedrooms in which to play. And yet, funnily enough, they LOVE the lounge room. Probably because it’s a nice tidy open space - just longing for a game to be started.
Aarrgghh!!!! I do love my kids and I love having them home on holidays. But honestly, it’s more than a full-time job keeping the house reasonable when all 3 are home.
And yes, they should do better at picking up after themselves. But we all know that’s even more effort than tidying up yourself and today, I just have no energy left.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day! Hopefully I’ll feel better after a decent night’s sleep. And hopefully tonight will be cool enough to get one!

I have those days to. Today was one of them, I even tried to get the girls to clean up after themselves but ended up yelling at them which was counter productive so just gave up. Sometimes it is better for all our sanity if Mummy just ignores the mess, but it is so hard when the mess is in your peaceful place.
I find having big containers where Lego / Transformers and other stuff can easily and quickly be put makes getting things cleaned up a lot quicker.
Ha Ha, my kids used to love hanging out in my bedroom when it was quiet time, because my room was neat, quiet, cool, and they didn’t have to shift a million things to sit on the chair, floor, or bed. In vain I tried to tell them, if they kept their own room tidier and made the bed properly, their rooms would be just as nice as mine.
Kids are the same everywhere. I’ve almost given up on any space being clean and tidy for longer than it takes me to turn around and make a cup of tea. I kid you not this week I cleared the couch and made a cup of tea to sit down, and by the time I’d made it there was toys all over it again. Needless to say I lost it.
