Heh, where we used to camp (at the bottom of a cliff) the nearest toilet was half way up the cliff. We camped almost beside a river. In the Northern Territory. Yes, there were crocodiles.

Our toilet was called a bucket and it was emptied each morning.

I'll answer some questions too - this looks like fun!

Hey J, to get around the 'going to the toilet in the middle of the night' thing, we bought one of these - http://www.safetycentral.com/conopoto.html - it's basically a bucket with a comfy seat & lid :) We haven't had to actually use it as we were nice & close to the amenities all of the time we were travelling, but it was nice to know we had it..

Re the 'what age to go to the toilet by themselves' - I was letting B (6) go by himself over our Xmas holiday because we were in 1 caravan park which is very family friendly and you could get a feel for the people there. I don't think I'd let him go by himself normally though. I struggle with this one too!

Snakes, eh? Ok fair enough, chickens wouldn't be scary once you've been eyeball to eyeball with a snake.

It's lovely that your wedding day was your best ever. I actually had a really good time at my wedding, but unlike you in my most cynical moments I say that the wedding was the best the marriage ever was. (There's elements of truth in that, but of course it's not the whole story!)

Great answers.

I loved reading this!

It's so funny. I made the assumption that you've always been a farm girl. Born and raised on a farm....that kind of thing. I had no idea you were once a city girl.

I can relate to some of your traveling fears. I worry about getting sick while in Australia. There's also the worry about an emergency back home--having to rush back.

I really enjoyed learning more about you.
