Smiley Saturday - You’ve Got Mail
Some time ago I agreed to participate in a round the world envelope race. This race is all about raising awareness of the humble envelope. I want to post on the race in more detail in another post so I won’t say anything more now but I will say that it is an exciting thing for me to be involved in and it surely made me smile when the envelope arrived yesterday. As someone who is a big advocate of the value of printed mail (as opposed to only digital mail), I’ve really appreciated the opportunity to be involved.
This morning, my children are having a great time watching the Christmas Pageant. I remember growing up with the pageant as a child and it heralding the beginning of the Christmas season. Some people prefer to wait until December to think about Christmas but as a huge Christmas advocate (it really is the most wonderful time of the year, right?
), I like to stretch is out as long as possible.
Christmas and real life touchable mail. Two of my favourite things.
And this year I want to combine the two in a simple gesture to my blog readers. I want to send out Christmas Cards to any of you who are happy to share your address with me.
I know privacy is an issue on the internet and I understand if you’re not comfortable giving me your real name and address. But for those of you who are, simply fill in the contact form below and I’ll send you a simple Christmas greeting via “real” mail. All details will be destroyed as soon as the mail is sent and will not be shared with another soul.

I hope a card in the mail from me will make you smile!
Happy Smiley Saturday!!!

Gosh you’re quick off the mark! I’m only just recovering from Halloween thank you very much, then I have [we have!] Thanksgiving, then two December birthdays and then assuming I have any battery power left, I’ll wing it until Christmas!
I’m well into enveloppes and recycling though as my elder daughter used an old [last year's] colourful calendar to make envellopes.
Happy weekend.
Cheers
oh lovely idea with the christmas cards - we won’t be around for Christmas so I won’t take up your offer… but you already made me smile just thinking about it!
I am just the opposite of you. Maybe because I have written snail mails and sent Christmas cards for at least 50 years ! Now I enjoy the fact that I can sent Christmas cards per email and letters I only write to insurance companies or tax administrators, lol !

Can I have a card? Can I? Can I?
Reckon you should be able to guess my address! I love cards! And I love Christmas! All the decorations were starting to go up in Adelaide when I was there last week. So pretty!
This is a great idea, I’d love to get a card. I’ll send you one if you put a return address on the envelope. I promise not to share your address, privacy is a very valuable thing after all.
I think you’ve already got my details….. or do you need them again?
Can I send you one?
lovely idea
I have to admit I’m terrible with Christmas cards - I guess I’ve gotten lazy over the years with the ease of email. Not to mention I don’t maintain an address book, so I don’t know people’s mailing addresses anyway!
Still, this does sound like fun, and like River I’ll happily send a card back if you include a return address. The only catch is I’m in Australia, so it will cost us a bit more (and take longer).
Ok, don’t I feel like an idiot - you’re in Australia too, lol! I guess I’m just too used to everyone living in the US
Jason - please don’t feel like an idiot. I was about to let you know I am in Oz when you figured it out for yourself. It’s an easy mistake to make.
Bettina - yes, I will need your details again. I prefer not to keep people’s information for privacy reasons.
Sharon - Yes you can but guess what - I have NO IDEA what your address is. Or even what post office you use (given there seem to be a variety of options out there). Unless I send it to you at work or give it to you in person.
River - you’re on the list.
Gattina - I’ve been the same for the past few years but wanted to do something a little different this year.
Kate - Have a lovely Christmas.
Maddy - I think you guys just have too many big celebrations!!! It must be exhausting!!!
This sounds like an awesome idea.
