Not for me thanks. Don’t get me wrong, I can def appreciate the idea behind the initiative (and even the inestimable Mr Gaiman is taking part in the NaNoWriMo effort this year)… but when it comes to blogging, I prefer the blog posts I read/write to have some sort of compulsion behind them… not the (as you point out) “I’m writing this for no other reason than to post” kind.

Bettina - lol. I know. I find it hard to keep up with me too.

Guera - good luck. It is good for that. I find the more I blog, the easier it is to write posts (or think of ideas for posts).

Planning Queen - sounds wise. I think they have their place but it’s important not to simply do them “because everyone else seems to be” too.

Dina - I only write novels for my own enjoyment. They’re not good enough to be read by anyone but me. LOL. Good luck this month.

Dorothy - it’s awesome that you’ve had such a positive experience with blogging. Take care of you!

I’m in for NaNoWriMo, as you know. Managed 10,000 words on the first weekend, so I’m well on my way to making it this year. Even though I’m only around for the first 26 days of the month.

As for NaBloPoMo - I missed it last year, but I’m planning on upping the ante a little on my blog this month anyway, so I’ll probably end up posting a fair bit anyway, especially as planning and packing goes down to the wire towards the end of the month.

Plus, I have exams, so I need to, you know, procrastinate

I might have tried it, if I knew earlier.. I’ve just gotten my full strength back from the chemo and what the heck…maybe I’ll try next year I’ve learned so much in the last few months about blogging. Honestly in my 62 years of life this dam stuff..empowers me the most…

I do…well, DID too.

Maybe you’re right about the starting new blog thing. I didn’t even think about that, but about the same time I signed up for NaBloPoMo, I started a new blog. I keep thinking why in the world did I do that????? I have enough stress keeping up with one blog.

I was very tempted, but I have some projects that I really want to complete before the new baby arrives. So I had to use self restraint and have decided to give it a miss. I think I just would have found it too much for me at the moment. Good luck to all those who are in and I look forward to reading the posts.
