I was looking for a site to help me cope with the fact that my "baby" 8years is going to have heart surgery on the 11th of Feb. I am so scared and i don't know how i am living day to day. I feel better but also i can understand what you were saying about not knowing where to stand, are you allowed to go somewhere, the confusion. Sometimes i feel like a bad mum because i don't even understand what the specialists are talking about. Then people say you must ask questions. I don't know what questions. I am on anti anxiety medication and i still feel rotton.

Hi, I'm sitting here tears streaming down my face after reading this. My three year old had surgery last Friday, it was horrible. Horrible. We were told we'd be home by noon-- we were home by 7pm after a day of shivering, vomitting blood, and just all around chaos.

Yeah, our nurses had a nice time talking about their nightlife in front of us too.

I spent the entire day crying uncontrollably.

Oh Jodi ....
You made me cry - beautifully written.
I was right there in July. DS11. Had been 15 hours by the time we got to hospital and the outlook was much as it seems to have been for you. Ours turned out fine as well.

Kids!!!
Don't they realise that we deserve a quiet life after giving birth to them; not more drama????
Hope that everything is progressing well and that he's out of the woods.

Reading that was like reliving my experience when my son had to have surgery. Except he then hemorraged (sp????) for 6 hours and we had to do the whole surgery thing again that night.

So glad that everything went smoothly for you and that Lleyton will be ok. Hope you get to rest and catch up with yourself. It is very draining having to go through this kind of thing and knowing that you have to try to be a rock for the kids makes it harder. Sending hugs :)
