Field Days Photo’s
Here are some photographs I took at the Field Days last Wednesday. The kids get the Wednesday off from school so they were our focus on that day.
Trailer Boy having some fun at the local Case IH dealer’s stand. Even better was having people in the “know” who made sure he got a free Case showbag with lots of goodies including a tractor keyring which he thinks is PERFECT because the wheels actually move and the keyring section makes a great “trailer” (I think he’s calling it a spreader). Shhh….don’t tell anyone that I pilfered the Case pen from his bag - it’s a good pen!!!
If Farmboy had a never-ending cheque book, this would be his next purchase. Well, one of them anyway.
Isn’t it shiny?
This is “apparently” the tractor Farmboy would like to buy for me to drive. The look of terror on my face is REAL, even if I’m not really driving it!!! It’s BIG!!!
See!!! TOLD you it was BIG!!! Not as big as the one Farmboy is drooling over in the photo above but waaaayyyyy too big for ME!
Here is Singstar Princess looking beautiful as usual. I wonder how much Megafert will pay me for featuring their balloon on my blog???
I didn’t even get a free beanie or scarf from them either!!!
“Dad, can we buy one of these?” Trailer Boy would LOVE a 4-wheeler! We’d like to get one as they’re quite handy around the farm. However, it’s the kind of purchase that is very “non essential” during extended drought. One day….
So there is a brief glimpse into one of our days at the Field Days. It’s very red isn’t it? I have to admit I’m rather partial to the red coloured machinery myself (the main opposition to red is green - John Deere). Plus of course good coffee and good company made the local Case site quite attractive.

Glad he likes his tractor, amazing how such a small thing can bring such joy.
I gave one to another little boy from Port Lincoln after chatting with his mum and finding that he is autistic, and red tractors are his “thing”. So I went inside and found a little toy tractor for him. His mum nearly cried. So did I. I saw the family a few times during the day and they thanked me every time.
As always I love reading your posts about non-city life! Your kids are so gorgeous
- I think one of the highlights of my prac was when one of the year seven boys took me around part of his property on their 4-wheeler, it really helped me understand there’s a whole different side to them that you don’t always see in the classroom. Valauable lesson there but also just plain old fun.
Looks like you all had a great time!!
No! You look great in that tractor
Our kids had a ball at the Field Days last year (happened to co-incide with our hols). DS posed beside every tractor, truck and piece of machinery he could. Probably not what you would think of as a great day out for the kids, unless you live on the land, but I can recommend it to all the townies. Great fun.
Such great big smiles, they are lovely to see.
I’ve got an award for you - http://leechbabe.wordpress.com/2008/08/19/award-and-the-who-are-you-people-meme/
That IS a huge tractor - I would have had the same face! Yikes. You are brave to climb all the way up into it. It looks like you had a beautiful day though. It reminds me of the fairs we have around here in the fall.
I am partial to huge red tractors too - my FIL wants a new one with air cond and the Tool man loves to drive tractors too.
Greta you all had a great day out and got freebies.
Looks like a fun day! Wow, your very own tractor - how special would you be then?!
