Bloggest Loser Challenge - I Want to Give Up

I’m doing badly. REALLY badly.

Like, “not sure if my jeans are going to do up” badly. Cry

And it’s all MY fault.

I’ve tried to think of anyone or anything else I can possibly blame it on.

And I can’t!!!

Cos it all comes down to me really. Undecided

And the worst thing is that I KNOW how to lose 0.5kg per week. I’ve done it before. By running. LOTS of running.

Okay, jogging. It’s not really fast enough to be a run.

Anyway, this coming week is likely to be a write off.

It’s busy and I’ll be around LOTS of food.

Yummy food.

So, I’m thinking maybe I’ll start again in a week.

Because that’s the great thing about weight loss.

You get to start over as many times as you need to.

*sigh*

    Alrighty….

You and me both. How bout we take this week off (coz trying to behave this week is just asking for trouble!) and then next week it’s time to get serious.

I have a family wedding to look stunning for in October! Can’t have my cousins skinnier than me! Just would not do!

Although Kym (helpfully) commented that I have less wrinkles with my plump face….he obviously isn’t planning on being fed ever again…or have anything else done for him…..enough said.

I’d like to give up too. I ate less this week, MUCH less, hopped on the scales this morning to find I’d put on two kilos. The rest of my day has been suitably sh**ty because of it.

I am planning on getting on the exercise bandwagon this week. I need to. I am getting creaky and stuff.

But no jogging for me. Girl, you are amazing to actually JOG!

You can do it, but you have to want to. You know that, you don’t need me saying it :)

Oh Lightening, don’t give up!! I had such a bad start to this challenge, and sadly gained another pound this past week - even though I ate better and exercised more (grumble grumble grumble) - but am trying to make small changes and do even a bit better this week. So take the week off, and start back fresh when you are ready. I’ll be here to cheer you on! But don’t think I’m going to go jogging like you! I’m a walking kind of gal. ;)

See food as medicine rather than as something to take enjoyment in. You will lose more weight through restricting intake than you will by exercising. The 50+ KGs I’ve lost have not come off because I started exercising. I rarely exercise at all. The biggest change was moving from an environment where there was an emotional connection to food (a family member’s esteem being related to praise about cooking) to having to prepare food for someone who would only eat very boring food. When food became very boring for me, the weight started falling off. Also remember your body is more efficient than those of the people around you. My 5 year old eats twice what I do - he needs all that energy to keep his systems running, I get all I need out of a lot less. Restrict intake long enough and your body starts helping you. Your stomach shrinks to the point where you simply cannot more than you need to without feeling ill. The final thing to remember is that a diet isn’t temporary - your metabolism will not magically speed up when you get to be a size 6 - you need to make a permamant adjustment to your relationship with food. You will encounter situations with large amounts of very yummy food for the rest of your life - the key is changing how you react in that situation. This morning I had breakfast in a hotel, just had fruit and yogurt. It was only as I was walking out that I noticed that they had a massive number of cakes (some people apparently eat cakes for breakfast). 5 years ago I would have been all over those cakes like a rash. Today I just shrugged and didn’t feel I was missing anything (I actually only remembered that there had been cakes and my reaction to them when writing this reply)

know how you feel- I started again last week, I know I ate less, but the scales didn’t hear the same.
Just read lock the scales away.

Did you measure the body, waist, thighs etc- I did that last year and it was good. Exercise builds muscle often puts on kilos:( but the cms come off
