Smiley Saturday - New Toys

smiley-saturday-2.JPG

Is it just me or do Saturdays seem to roll around rather quickly???

I think it’s a sign of old age when time goes faster and faster. Tongue out

My news from my doctor’s appointment yesterday is all good. After the rough couple of week’s I’ve had, we’re taking a break from any medication changes for a bit. Things have settled down and I’m doing okay on this dose (even though it’s apparently “not” a dose) so we’re going to stay put for a little bit. The frustrating part about that is that I need to get a new prescription every 4 weeks (they’re not allowed to issue repeats on this dose).

BUT, the other good news is that we have a GP now. It’s been 10 months since our last doctor left and while we’ve had locum doctor’s, that hasn’t been any good for managing my condition. If I have to see him every 4 weeks whether I need it or not, at least I’ll get to know the new doctor (hope he’s nice).

The other exciting news is the new toys we purchased yesterday.

A digital video camera to finally replace the crusty old (and very LARGE) video camera we bought when Leighton was a baby. Ten years is a loooonnnggg time for that kind of technology.

You never know. One of these days I might even do a VIDEO post!!!! Surprised

AND a new digital camera. That one wasn’t really in the plan. Well, it was in the plan but not for quite this early (I was thinking more like for Christmas).

I’ll post more about those two purchases in the next week or so. When I’ve had time to get them out of the box and have a play.

They’re both purchases we wanted to make before we do our big trip. So I feel like we’re another step closer to our dream.

And that sure makes me smile!!! Smile

How weird is that…..I got a digital camera this week. I’ve had it out of the box and played with it, and I can take a picture, mainly up my nose so far. Now to work out the wire thingys so I can post photos…

From what you said previusly I think staying on the same dose for a while is a good idea BTW.

Remember to backup your data to a safe place away from the computer. If you lose your hard disk drive and you’ve removed the video / pictures from your cam you’ve lost a lot of important data. About 12 months ago I had a removable disk that had 5 years of photos and some video on it. Lucky for me I’ve got a fair number of computers and was able to recover everything (it was sort of a central archive that was lost)

Those are really things and happenings that can make one smile. I’m glad you’re feeling better everyday and congratulations on your new purchases. Don’t leave home without those (I know I am borrowing from an ad). You can never tell when a butterfly might perch on your windshield (chuckle).
    Have a great weekend.

Nice to hear you are feeling better. It is funny because I went to the doctor yesterday also. He gave me good news and bad news. Good news is my heart is fine. Bad news is I have to go back to work.
I am looking forward to seeing some of those videos.

It’s not just you. The weeks seem to FLY by these days! Glad you got good news from the doctor and hope things continue to improve. Finding a doctor you like is certainly something to smile about. You’ll LOVE the new digital video camera. I take mini-videos with my Casio Exilim and have shared a couple of brief videos this week … one today as a matter of fact. It’s pretty simple when Blogger cooperates. Hope you have a lovely weekend.
    Hugs and blessings,

Yay for the toys! I don’t have a smiley saturday post per se, but the internetz are a constant source of joy for me. Amazing how all these people in this little box can make me so happy!
