Getting To Know You - Part 2

Yesterday I posted a meme that revealed a little of myself to you all.

You may or may not have realised this by now, but I’m away. These posts have been prewritten and prescheduled to publish. So you can stop sulking about the fact that I haven’t responded to your comments or commented on your blog. I do still love you!!!

I don’t like saying “hey everyone, we’re going to be away from X…. to Y…..” for obvious reasons. But since we’re due back any time now, I feel like it’s safer for me to say this now. I’ll be back on deck as soon as I climb out from under the mound of dirty washing and recover from jetlag (no, we didn’t actually leave our own time zone BUT I still suffer from “jet lag” after being away).

In the meantime, I thought it would be nice to encourage you all to share a tiny bit about yourself. Kind of like an “in-house” meme. Rather than going from blog to blog, it’s just for us here within this post and it’s comments.

So, here are my questions for you:

1. If you had to choose only 1 food item to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?

2. Name one place you’ve never been that you’d really like to visit one day.

3. Where is the best place you’ve ever lived (your favourite) and why?

I hope you’ll join in and leave your responses to these questions in the comments section. I look forward to reading them when I get back on deck.

    1 Food Item.
Chips. This is actually a staple of my diet during depressive episodes, as it doesn’t upset my tummy. Combined with chicken salt its delicious.

    2. Name one place you’ve never been to that you’d really like to visit one day:
Cardiff, in Wales. I’d bring some Dr Who props and have a bit of a giggle. I do have a goal to visit every country in the world but that isn’t feasible in the short term.

    3. Where is the best place I’ve ever lived.
I’ve only ever lived in four places, all over Geelong. The best place I’ve lived is actually where I’m living at the moment. Great landlords. Its somewhat link sharing a house, but with considerably more independence. Financially is a win win for all too. :)

    I haven’t been sulking! Much….

So, to your questions. I think if I had to choose one food it would have to be lasagne, can I have that? Even though its made up of other foods? My first thought was chocolate (of course) but I figured over a life time there is the teensy weensy possibility that I may get sick of it.

I would love to visit Ireland. Such greenery and scenery (I’m a poet!) and no snakes! And I could just listen to them talk. Love that accent. And history, I’ve got a bit of a thing for really old buildings and bloody history!

The best place I’ve lived is right here. I had to go away so that when I came back I really appreciated the place. It’s not the place, it’s the people, we have a wonderful close and giving community and thats pretty rare methinks.

Look forward to hearing from you soon!!! And I mean soon!! Yes, I know, I’m not known for my subtlety. Pop over to visit and see how Sunday’s service went.

One food? Okay, then probably Smiths Thins Chicken Flavour. (One type of food - Chinese)

I really want to go to New York

Best place to live? I would love to bring my childhood house to where I live now. I like the town and the people, but my house sucks.

I’m still jetlagged from my Copenhagen trip (I think it is worse when you go somewhere where it doesn’t get dark until 11pm) and I’m off to Malaysia in 3 weeks (and back to Denmark in 9) … I’ll be recovered from my current jet lag sometime in 2009 …

    1. Rice. Boring enough not to get sick of it (the more tasty something is, the more tired you can get of it)

    2. Antarctica. Most other places are more possible to get to. Orbit / The Moon might be nice, but I’d probably get very sick in zero-g.

    3. Thinking of spending 6 months working in Denmark in a few years time - would also like to do the same in Japan (I already live half a world away from my job and both those locations would be closer) - need to stay where I am because of family at the moment, but we plan to be a bit more unteathered in 10 years time.

    1. If you had to choose only 1 food item to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Do we need to be specific about this? I’d probably say pizza because it’s so versatile, can be completely different depending on the toppings. But if it’s a specific meal, chicken enchiladas. Could have these any time of day, hot or cold.

    2. Name one place you’ve never been that you’d really like to visit one day.

I think I’ve ticked off most of my places already. Maybe some place like Dubai because of the grand scale tourism developments going on. Want to see if all the fuss is warranted. Although when I normally go for that reason, I get disappointed.

    3. Where is the best place you’ve ever lived (your favourite) and why?

I’m really not sure about this one! Everything has pretty equal lists of pros and cons. Where we live now probably has the least annoying cons so we’ll go with that, lol.

    1. If you had to choose only 1 food item to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If it has to be just one food, then I would choose bananas, or if it can be a meal would like to have spaghetti bolognaise.

    2. Name one place you’ve never been that you’d really like to visit one day.

The Maldives, sunshine, clear water, sand and amazing diving. I would love to stay in one of those little huts on the end of a jetty…..

    3. Where is the best place you’ve ever lived (your favourite) and why?

A townhouse in New Farm, it was the first place my fiance and I lived in together and it was a really sweet little house, in a fabulous location.

    1. If you had to choose only 1 food item to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Chocolate, and I know I wouldn’t get sick of it. One christmas my Aunt gave us a 7.5 kg Toblerone and the three of us managed to finish that just in time for Easter and all the chocolate Easter eggs and bunnies. Yum.

    2. Name one place you’ve never been that you’d really like to visit one day.

    Peru

    3. Where is the best place you’ve ever lived (your favourite) and why?

Conondale. That’s where my wife and I will build a house soon and because all the neighbours around us are really nice.

How did you know I was sulking? ;)

I hope you have safe travels!

    Now, onto the questions.

Ummm, seriously, only 1?? Cereal I think, I love cold cereal. But I also have a strong fondness for macaroni and cheese. Wow, that would be a really hard decision.

There are so many places I’d love to visit, but I really would like to go to Italy one day. My hubby has family there and it seems like such a lovely place to vacation.

This one is easy! It’s where I currently live since I’ve never lived anywhere else! I live in a great city in Florida that is home to most of my friends and family. It’s nice having so many people here to spend time with and I love that I’ve still got friends I grew up with close by.

    One food~ Nachos

    Place to go~ Europe

Favorite place~ Okinawa Japan. We lived there 5 years. Maybe it was the time in my life. Early 20’s, just starting a family, still in romantic love… I don’t know. But I would go back to that time in a heartbeat!
