Lightening’s Travelling T-Shirt
Our local paper has a feature called the “Travelling Tribune”. People are encouraged to take their local paper with them when they travel (or send it to friends in far away places) and photograph themself doing something interesting with the paper.
So I’ve decided to pinch the idea (because of course, most good ideas are simply copied aren’t they???
) and adapt it for a single “Lightening Online” T-Shirt I had made by Vista Print.
The idea is that said t-shirt will make it’s way around as many blogs as possible between now and the 1st December. Each blogger needs to take a photograph of the t-shirt. They can be wearing it or do something else creative with it (as long as it doesn’t damage the shirt). Then they post their photograph on their blog with a little spiel explaining what it’s all about.
Yes, the purpose of this little competition is to promote my blog. But I hope it’ll do more than that. I hope it’ll be lots of fun for all involved.
And of course, there will be prizes. First prize is a cash prize (donated by yours truly) for the photograph voted most creative (so you’ll all get a say in who wins). I’m hoping to add some other prizes as the competition continues and there will be at least one prize draw for those who comment on the final voting post in early December.
I’m going to begin with my own photograph of me wearing the t-shirt (although I’m naturally excluding myself from any prizes):
This is me on the only Tractor I think Farmboy would trust me to right now. It’s Trailer Boy’s plastic ride on tractor. And yes, I’m too big for it!!! Not by much though!!! Makes me wonder how my 4-year old manages to zip around on it so quickly.
In the background is our air seeder and bar. Somehow I don’t think I have enough horsepower to pull it!!!! You’d think for the price of said toy we’d get at least some horsepower under the bonnet (I know WE got it for free but I mean the usual price of said toy).
The rules of the competition are that the blogger in possession of said t-shirt has the choice of where it goes next. So I’ve requested the help of a fellow blogger to get this launched.
Anytime now I’m expecting it to make it’s landing at it’s destination and we’ll hopefully be away. Stay tuned for more on the “Travelling T-Shirt” as news comes to hand.

Ahahahaha what a cool idea
Wow, what a great idea! The stories and photos should be fantastic. Imagine when the t-shirt finally got back to you the stories could be made into a book, travel journal style, with permission from the other bloggers of course. Do you think each participant would like a copy of their own traveling t-shirt diary? I know I would. (If I was participating.)
That’s a really cool idea! It even made me look at vistaprint and see what they offer on creating t-shirts for offline marketing/advertising. Hmm, still thinking.
By the way, I tried to use your “contact” link, but there’s no text box to put in my message to you. I can only put in my name, email and site, but there’s no box to put in a message. Ha! Email me, please? I have a question.
ha, great idea. you’re going to have a lot of fun with this one.

A Juggling Mum - thanks. Let’s hope others feel the same way.
River - Interesting idea.
Lin - thanks for the heads up about the contact box, will work on that today. Vista Print are great for all kinds of stuff. I’ve ordered some stuff for the blog and other stuff for our personal use. I LOVE it!!!
Claire - I hope so. It is a great tractor. Trailer Boy LOVES it.
