I Had A Fight With My Personal Trainer :-(

I’ve been feeling pretty ordinary over the past few days. School holidays and a bunch of other stuff has left my emotional energy levels hovering dangerously close to zero. This impacts on my mental clarity and also my general physical ability. Not only that but it affects my motivation. You could say that my “get up and go got up and went”. Undecided

So it took quite a lot of determination to go to my personal training session this week. I wanted to go. I just didn’t know how I would go. Thankfully, Farmboy had some jobs to do in town so he drove me in. That preserved some of my mental energy (not having to drive) for my session.

Things started off okay. I had my first experience using a treadmill (ever!!!). They take a bit of getting used to with getting started and stopping. I was worried I was going to end up falling off the end of it in some kind of “funniest home videos” type stunt. But I sort of got the hang of it (well, I didn’t fall off anyway).

So far, so good in an “I’m already stuffed” kind of way.

Then - WHAM!!!! Cry

Yep, today we did BOXING!!!!! Smile

And no, I didn’t really cry. I was just being silly. Tongue out

Phew!!! Talk about an intense workout. But it was pretty cool! And probably EXACTLY what my body needed today. Give it a bit of a kick-start, get rid of some aggression and stress and work up a sweat (therefore building up those endorphins).

A couple of times I actually thought I was going to throw up (which isn’t supposed to be part of the deal). But it was only a very brief feeling of nausea really.

And apparently I did such a good job that my trainer said I could have a Mars Bar. Laughing

Okay, she didn’t really say that. She said I’d worked off somewhere around the equivalent of a Mars Bar (in kj’s). Which was actually kind of depressing really cos it was HARD WORK!!!!!

Do you think perhaps it was a mistake to go up to her after Netball training last week and say “I. Am. So. Unfit”. Perhaps she thinks she should do something about that????? Surprised

What was that? Isn’t that her job? LOL. Yeah okay, you got me there. Wink

It was a HARD session but it was good. I think there’s nothing more satisfying than knowing you’ve given it all you’ve got (and then some).

But man. I. Am. Exhausted. (I need a lying down collapsed in a heap smiley)

Congratulations on pushing yourself to go. Motivation is a huge thing for me, I’m ok when I’m feeling good and seeing progress but it doesn’t take much to make me quit. So well done, you are doing really well.

So jealous. I need to kick some boxing butt. Work off some of this aggression.

So what kinda shoes do you wear for that then? Thigh high black boots?

    He he he

OMG I was so worried when I saw the title. But *sigh* its all ok.

I KNEW you would love boxing - its addictive. It is hard, harder than you think that it will be but so, so worth the effort.

Good for you. Keep going. I bet that it will help heaps over the next couple of months too :)

Isn’t boxing the best work out ever??? I absolutely love it. Best cardio work out ever, great fat burner and even better to get rid of your aggression!!!

Wow, boxing is just what I need! Seriously, it’s such a good energy-user and it can really make you feel so much better about all the things you are stressing about (if you’re anything like me) LOL!

I’m glad you had a good session - and yay for working off the equivalent of a Mars bar! :D

So did you eat a mars bar after? ‘Cos I know I would have….
I feel quite slothful after reading all the exercise you’re getting.

Go Girl! Boxing is a fantastic workout. I’m working back towards it myself and I have gloves from when I did it with my last personal trainer. They’re red so they go fast! LOL
    Keep up the good work.
I did a workout in the park with my personal trainer this afternoon and we had the help of E and D. Great fun was had by all!

Sharon - I know what you mean. I tend to be a bit the same.

Kelley - ROFLOL. Ummmm…..they don’t make boots big enough for my thighs!!!!

Gemisht - sorry, having a bit of a fool around there!!!! :)

Dutsji - I wonder if it’s normal to be feeling all the muscles in my upper back today????

Katie - yes, there is something quite satisfying about having a good punch and kick session.

River - LOL. No I didn’t. Not saying what I’ve eaten in the way of chocolate today though. :(

I had chocolate today. LOTS of chocolate. I was going to be good this week but I’ve gone and blown it again. Sigh. Why do I sabotage myself continually like this? I think I need to have my jaw wired.

Hello my beautiful sister in law, I just had a big cry reading your netball grief blog. If heartfelt empathy & love could take someone’s pain away… ALL of yours would be gone - I love you xx
This site is fantastic, thanks for inviting me to see it, what a great way for me to keep up to date with your family ‘happenings’ and more importantly your private journey.
Reading about your PT sessions is great… I can sympathise!! I have mine every Tues night so I’m a bit sore today, It doesn’t seem to get any easier!
    I’ll make sure I keep in ‘e-touch’. Love S.I.L.O.L. (Sister-in-law-of-lightening)

Welcome SILOL. And thank you for your kindness and care. I am learning and growing through all of this which is the main thing. I guess personal training never really gets any easier. Because as you get stronger and fitter, the trainer ups the ante. :) I think you’re doing great because you’ve kept at it no matter what! And you were my inspiration for getting a personal trainer. So thanks! :)
