Smiley Saturday - Gratitude Dance

smiley-saturday-2.JPG

This week I am flogging some material from Suzie at The Abundance Highway. I hope she doesn’t mind. :) Suzie has some FABULOUS material on her website so if you haven’t already visited, I would highly recommend you do.

I LOVE this quote she included in a recent post on Gratitude.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” –Melody Beattie

Cultivating an attitude of gratitude is something I think we’re often lacking in our Western culture. How often do we think “if I just had X, THEN I would be happy”? When in reality, we already HAVE an abundance.

So this week for Smiley Saturday, I’m challenging each and every one of you to:

1. Write down what you are grateful for (this can be a private thing - it doesn’t have to BE what your Smiley Saturday post is about - just a general challenge to all of my readers to try this)

2. Play the following video clip

3. Join in the Gratitude Dance

Just watching this video full of happy people is SURE to make you smile. But don’t just WATCH. Get involved!!!! :)

Wishing you all the BEST Smiley Saturday you’ve had yet! :)

I think my post this morning is a bit too introspective for a Smiley Saturday topic but I do like the idea of cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude. We have many things to be grateful. I’ve always figured if I have a roof overhead, food on the table, clothes on my back, great circle of close friends and family add in a dash of meaning employment I’m doing good. What more could you truly ask for?
