Smiley Saturday - Sport and Thankyous
I have already shared most of my Smiley moments for this week with you. But I’ll recap a few.
- My first work-out with my personal trainer on Monday.
- Some awesome parcels in the post.
- Watching Singstar Princess at netball.
We also had an interview with Leighton’s teacher this week (after having to postpone on her TWICE - I felt terrible about that!). She had some wonderful things to say about not only his work but his character. It seems he is great at helping other students with their math and very positive and encouraging during sport. It’s nice as a parent to hear those kinds of reports on your child. He also received a reading award at assembly on Thursday.
As promised last week, here is a photo of my wonderful Swap Parcel from Kate.
LOOK at all that PINK!!!!
A lovely pink bag (did you make that Kate?), some fabulous cards so I can pass on the smiles (did you make those Kate?) and a FAIRY cookie cutter attached to pink sprinkles. Singstar Princess and I are going to have FUN making those in the school holidays. Thank you so much Kate. It’s lovely.

I have heard from some of you that your parcels have been delayed. That’s fine. Those who haven’t been in touch with me yet, could you please do so. If I haven’t heard from you by the end of the week, I’ll be getting in contact just to make sure everyone received something and no-one has missed out.
I hope you’ve all had something to smile about this week. Don’t forget that you can also post a funny video, picture, joke or anything you think might make your readers smile. As long as it somehow relates to smiling, it fits into “Smiley Saturday”.

What a beautiful, thoughtful gift! I’m glad your Princess enjoyed her netball so much. It’s a great sport. And you must be really proud to hear those nice things about Leighton. And good on you for the whole personal trainer thing. What an amazing effort that must require! I hope it goes fabulously for you.
Must be so lovely to receive such positive feedback.
Oi Kate! Where did you get the fairy cookie cutter!! I want one!
You will have to post some photos of fairy cookies
Ohhh fairy biscuit cutter! Where can I get one?!
Sounds like you’ve all had a great week
Nooo just realised I broke the i before e rule and I cant even change it!!!
I’ve fixed it for you Dee
I have to admit my Mum helped me with my pink swap gifts - the cookie cutter comes from the Mornington market - they have all kinds of cool ones, my girls love to decorate cookies with sprinkles so I hope you enjoy it too! My Mum sewed the bag and I made the cards - you should have seen me trying to find pink things to photograph - my pink princess wasn’t co-operating at all unfortunately! So glad you liked the gift I had so much fun putting it together!
Just wanted to let you know that I received a gorgeous ‘pink’ vanilla bean soap from Sharon yesterday with a lovely card. Thanks awfully, Sharon!
Soooooooooo lucky! Just hosted my twins 7th birthday party today and looking forward to a nice hot tub with a glass of chardonnay and my vanilla bean soap.
Will submit a picture soom.
Thanks for organising this Lightening!
Beth xxx
Lots of things for you to smile about. We had a wonderful smiley saturday also.
your parcel looks great too and lots of reasons to smile
Kate is very creative!
Just wanted to say I’m starting to catch up on all my blogs now that crazy assessment round one has finished and I really enjoyed reading your series on shearing. It’s nice to get a peek into the shearing/farming world from an insider’s perspective.
Also yay for the gym, so happy that you enjoyed it and yay for your daughter enjoying netball.
More pink? Wonderful! I love pink, just not as much as you obviously do

I love the colour of the blog…some days when I’m about ready to implode I wander over and just sit in the corner {truth} and enjoy the peace it creates!
Yeah i know, I sound like a nutter! But I do it all the same…
Always nice to know what makes people smile….I love the Smilet Saturdays I read, but never get around to doing one…always trying to do 20 things as once as it is
Anonymum - what a lovely thing to say. Thank you. It touches my heart that coming here might touch you in some way.
As for the pink. I have a post about the colour pink rolling around in my head and I’m hoping to get it out on the screen one day this week.
Cat - glad to hear you’ve made it through the assessment time.
I’m pleased you enjoyed the series on shearing.
Trish - indeed. I think this swap has resulted in lots of smiles all round. Which pleases me no end.
Marita - that’s great.
Beth - the soap sounds fabulous and I got to see Sharon’s lovely pink bling this morning.
Kate - they are fun to put together aren’t they. I’m trying to complete a shopping bag for a swap I’m involved in. I’m pleased with how it’s coming together so far.
Dee - I hope you’ve spotted Kate’s answer to your question. Posting some photo’s of the fairy cookies is a great idea. I’ll do that.
Jayne - it WAS a good week. And nice to reflect and realise that.
Tracey - I’m really enjoying the netball too. Reliving some VERY old memories. I was very sad to have to give it up. As I’m playing with DD (she keeps asking me to come practise with her) the rusty, deeply buried memories of my own days of playing are coming back.
Glad you liked the soap Beth, the bath sounds divine, enjoy!
And Jodi, you know you can come back and have a game of netball, with your new trim, personally trained figure you will look fab in a body suit!
Thanks Sharon but I promise you, you do NOT want me playing a game of netball. Just because I was about to play C-grade when I stopped playing at 12, does NOT mean I could play these days. LOL. I’m not even sure I can still CATCH a ball.
As for those outfits….enough said.
