I’m Officially A Gym Bunny
Okay, that might be stretching things a little given I’m not actually FIT or anything yet. But I did venture to the local gym today for my first session with my personal trainer.
And I’m still alive.
And I didn’t throw up once.
And it was FUN!!!
Well, most of the time anyway.
Ask me again after next Monday and I might have a better idea of how hard it is. Today was just a bit of a “get to know you” type day with her assessing my current abilities (and the whole dreaded weigh and measure
).
Or ask me again in the morning and we’ll see how stiff I am.
But my trainer is lovely and positive and even gave me a massage at the end. I felt very decadent.
So far I’m feeling like this has been a very good decision. Something for ME!!!
Yah!!! I’m so excited I’m bouncing (I guess she can’t have worked me too hard if I’ve still got enough energy left to bounce
)!!!

Excellent…you can do my share too if you’ve got so much energy to spare lol
Seriously, congrats
Well done, you!
Oh Yay. I had forgotten you were doing this until I saw the post title. I loved having a PT, for the short while that I had one.
I really hope that you enjoy it and get lots out of it. See if you can do some boxing with her - its fantastic for pent up aggression etc. Get her to show you the right way and then you can go and practice on that fantastic punching bag you got - I’m jealous of that, I would love one.
Hope you’re not too stiff tomorrow - do some stretches before bed if you think you need to.
Sounds like something good for you to be doing. You sound uplifted
Nothing like those exercise endorphins! How unfair that eating chocolate releases the same ones.
Enjoy the buzz and the resulting fitness
Well done you! I’m glad you had recovered enough from last week to make it to your first session. I’m so glad it went well for you.
Good luck with the new you!
Cheers
Sharon.
Go you!
You’ve inspired me - I’ve decided to start walking of an afternoon after DH gets home from work. He can mind Billy and I’ll go for a walk BY MYSELF! (Now to carry through with it!)
If you’re a bit stiff in the morning have a hot shower before doing some gentle loosening stretches. The heat will help to ease your muscles. I started thinking about going to the gym about 20 years ago. Still thinking about it.
Jayne - LOL. The extra energy didn’t last that long. Pretty weary now.
Guera - thanks.
Gemisht - PT mentioned boxing today so I think she’s planning on doing some with me.
Tiff - I think it’s definitely a good move for me.
Sharon - I seem to have pulled up not *too* bad (ie have recovered in a reasonable time frame given how much stress last week was). I haven’t forgotten about our gym buddy plans!
Let me know when you’re ready.
Except maybe not this week.
Kez - Go YOU!!!! Sounds like a great plan in many ways (exercise + time out)
River - ROFLOL. I’ll remember the shower thing. Definitely starting to feel my muscles although not stiff as such yet (tomorrow might be a different story).
So jealous. But would be more if the PT was a hot guy *snort*
Wow good on you!!
I need to do some exercise, keep putting it off.
I did love going to the gym before kids.
Oh, it sounds great! And, if you wake up stiff necked in the morning, just keep thinking how nice you’ll feel when you’re a bit more in shape!
lol Alison, oh to choose ….. chocolate..exercise…chocolate…exercise… hmmm
Well done Lightening. Great that you and your trainer connected.
Well done, and good luck.
Massage at the end of training? Man, I need a PT! lol
Congrats on your first session, you’ll love the boxing training.
i’m all for the chocolate
Gyms scare me.
