Smiley Saturday
Welcome to this week’s edition of Smiley Saturday.
Hopefully most of the Smiley Saturday swap parcels are now in the post. If not, don’t panic. Just get them sent off as soon as you can (perhaps email your partner to let them know you haven’t forgotten them).
So that I can make sure no one misses out, could you please let me know when you have sent your parcel and also when you have received your parcel. You can use either the comments section of this post or contact me using the “contact” tab above.
I’m hoping to post photo’s of the swap parcels in the coming weeks so don’t forget to send me those photo’s. You can also send a message to your swap partner for me to post with the parcel if you would like.
I’m going to kick off this week with my swap parcel from Ann. I was going to wait until I had posted hers to open it but my will-power let me down at the last minute.
I did however, wait until I had finished putting your parcel together before opening it.
Look at that wonderful “handknitted with love” PINK beanie. Tis a tad HOT for it right now but I’m hanging out for the cooler weather so I can give it a try. And how’s this for thinking? The wool label so I have the washing instructions. I would never have thought of that! (including the instructions I mean, not washing the beanie
).
The most beautiful card handmade by her daughter.
Some PINK soap (oops, looks like that didn’t get in the photo - DOH!)
And the jelly crystals? They came with a recipe for a PINK CAKE!!!! How awesome is that??? Want the recipe? Well, you’ll have to wait!!! But I WILL post it (if Ann doesn’t mind) but hopefully I’ll make one so I can post a photo of the finished product at the same time.
How spoilt am I???? Did it make me smile???? YES!!!
But WAIT, there’s more….
I was a tad worried when I saw the parcel and ALL the goodies but thankfully Ann explained that her daughter collects these and had two the same.
What Ann doesn’t know (at least I don’t THINK I’ve mentioned this) is that right before Christmas (after all my shopping was done of course) Singstar Princess asked for a Beanie Kid for Christmas. I didn’t even know what a Beanie Kid was but given they don’t sell them around here anyway, it wasn’t going to be a possibility even if I wanted to run out and get her an extra present.
Well, guess who spotted this sitting in the opened envelope sitting in the office? She quietly says to me “I saw something in there….” *giggle* A Princess Beanie Kid for Singstar Princess. She is ecstatic. First she had to wait until I’d gotten around to photographing it. Friday she desperately wanted to take it to school so she could show her friends she now has a Beanie Kid. I relented and let her even though she isn’t *supposed* to take personal items to school.
Ann, thank you and please thank your daughter for my beautiful card and for the beanie kid. I think it will be one very well loved beanie kid.
Your parcel (and yours too Kate) is in the post and will hopefully arrive very soon.

With the weather S.A has been having, the beach sounds like a good place. All of that water. (Just don’t get burnt!!!)
wow! what a lovely piece of happy mail you got - now wonder you’re smiling!

I’ve posted mine just now and linked. Cannot believe I’m onto it in time to be the first today… wouldn’t expect that to happen again any time soon….
what a great SCORE !
I would be grinning from ear to ear too. Thanks for coming up with the idea.
Hi there Lightening,
It certainly is not beanie weather! Happy your princess liked the princess bear. My princess has a lot of them.
I shall work out how to do your Smiley Saturday linky business some time this week. I only discovered comments on blogs late last year (and I’d been looking at blogs a good while - some people are slow!).
Now we are off for a walk.
Hey there - enjoy the beach! It is beautiful beach weather here, which we will be taking advantage of also this weekend.
I have done a post, although I am not sure if it conforms to the Smiley Saturday formula - but doing your swap really did make me smile!
Want something else to smile about? You won my giveaway! Congrats!!
Send me an email with the email address you would like the giftcard sent to. And thanks for playing!

Enjoy the beach hon!!
Lovely pressies in your parcel. Can’t wait to see everyone elses.
Happy SS! What an awesome gift you received! My daughter collects Beanie Kids, she has way too many, but they are irresistibly cute. Hope you have a fantastic day at the beach. It seems we’re finally getting our summer weather now that autumn is here!
ooh what a special package!
I am so enjoying my first swap - my girls and I have been thinking up pink things all week! Package should be in the mail by mid week all going well!
What a lovely swap
Yay - I finally did a Smiley Saturday (I’ve been threatening to for ages)!
I hope you remembered to take sunscreen to the beach. I know you like pink and all but having skin the same colour as strawberry shortcake (remember her?) is not a good look. Painful too. If you did get a bit burnt rub gently with a cut tomato, takes the sting out. Aloe Vera gel cools too. I’m betting you were clever enough not to get burnt.
Hope you had a great time at the beach. Sounds wonderful.
I have actually done my SS post on Saturday this week. Things are looking up LOL.
Great pictures!! I can’t post today because I am about to get in a car and drive 12 hours with 2 little girls and a 1 little dog to see my parents while my husband is away! I will be smiling next Saturday when we have made the trip and made it back home safely! I’ll post then.
The swap package is in the mail but headed to Australia so I don’t know when it will arrive. I thought of taking a picture of the cute post office guy but got mad when he had me wait 15 min. He doesn’t get on the blog now. hehe.
Have a good week!
What an awesome parcel to receive in the mail! That’d make anyone smile
Lucky you. I thought I’d add my first smiley Saturday post. Because I just had an AWESOME day today (at work). Had a smile plastered on my face all day!
Luv Lil xox
What a lovely gift…and soooooooo pink. Lucky you!!!
Mine has been posted off….so hopefully it should arrive soon.
How much fun is this? Had a bit of a ‘grey’ week so this has been a fabulous therapeutic diversion for me.
Love,
Beth
I’m a day late with it, oops !!!
You are a spoilt little pink cookie !!!! And kind, sharing the spoils.
Hi Sue,
Post now up on Saturday Smiles. Like the concept
Thank you for starting it.

Just getting home and winding down from work. A few minutes too late but will still come up with a Smiley post, just give me a few minutes to let the coffee sink in.
Looks like you’ve all been having a lovely time while I’ve been away. Well done everyone!!!!
I will try to make my way around your Smiley Saturday posts over the next couple of days.
We’re home and hot after a lovely weekend at the beach. Not too much sunburn - I did buy a large 1lt pump pack to take with us. Twas a great weekend and we’re all rather exhausted. I’ll probably post a bit about it tomorrow as I know not everyone reads my comments.
Just letting you know that mine was posted off on the 17th … time from Melbourne to Canada may be a while, I guess! I had heaps of fun coming up with the present and trying to explain to my PA why she *had* to use the lolly-pink paper even though the other one would look better *giggle*
Also, Maggie (swap partner) and I were *both* sick on the week before they were due to be posted and *both* emailed each other apologies for posting parcels late which I thought was hilarious
I’m very good at “laughter is preferable to tears” myself.
Haven’t been so well lately, but I’m trying to remember to smile. CONGRATULATIONS about the personal trainer, by the way!

Hey Ricky - sorry to hear you haven’t been well.
Glad you had fun with the swap and thanks for letting me know where you’re up to with it.
