Smiley Saturday Swap

smiley-saturday-2.JPG

Let’s have a Lightening Online Smiley Saturday Swap. Interested?

How Will It Work?

It’s simple really. You sign up by leaving a comment on this post. I will assign swap partners. You prepare a little gift to send your swap partner and send it away by the date I set.

What Are the Rules?

1. Gifts must cost less than $10. You don’t need to spend that much (it can even be something that hasn’t cost you anything) but I feel it’s helpful to put an absolute maximum on it to save anyone feeling they *need* to spend a lot of money OR anyone feeling uncomfortable if what they receive is worth a LOT more than what they sent.

2. It needs to make your swap partner smile. Smile

3. You need to include the hot pink colour that is similar to the colour on this site. Your item doesn’t HAVE to be pink. It could be some hot pink on the card or the wrapping. Just somewhere on something (to link it back to “Lightening”).

I Can’t Wait. What Do I Do to Sign Up?

It’s simple. Leave a comment on this post with your email address using the following unclickable format

eg. lightening at lighteningonline dot com

If you have a yahoo or hotmail email address I recommend you use that

State what country you are in and whether or not you are prepared to send your parcel internationally (either is fine - I will try to match people up according to their desire). If you would PREFER an international swap partner (to add some interest to the swap) you can state that also and I’ll do my best to accommodate

If you would prefer to sign up privately, feel free to use the “contact” form by clicking “contact” in my page menu bar above

What Is the Timeline For All of This?

Swap partners will be announced in next Saturday’s Smiley Saturday post.

Swap gifts need to be in the mail by March 15th 2008

Sound like fun? Well, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and sign yourself up!!!Smile

P.S. If you’d like to spread the word of this swap, feel free to do so.

P.P.S. If you haven’t read todays Smiley Saturday post (with linky), scroll down. This is the second post for today. I was going to wait until next week to announce the swap but got too excited to wait! Laughing

I’m in - but I’d prefer to post within Australia. I did a shoebox swap to an American friend in November and shipping just about crippled me :P Serves me right for trying to post a box airmail when it weighed 2kg! Oh well, live and learn. She sent me some awesome stuff including a soy candle I feel completely in love with but now can’t get again, sigh.

Which reminds me, did you get the cookbook? :)

    Australia (obviously ;P)

    Cheers,

No probs Lizzie. Yes, I got the cookbook thankyou. I blogged about it on Lightening’s Blogworld . I understand about the postage. I do intend to add a couple of tips about international postage when I post the swap partners - to make it a little cheaper.

Sure…count me in! And I am willing to ship internationally :) Now is the 10$ limit in AUS funds or can I convert to CND funds?

LOL ok ok ok, i’m being a bit anal here…I will stick to 10$ in Canadian funds and not worry about the exchange rate.
