Smiley Saturday
There is NOTHING like receiving a parcel in the post to make a girl smile.
But what about a parcel from the US of A???? It’s not everyday that happens!!! Not to ME anyway! Am I expecting it? Kind of. You see, the lovely Mrs Fussypants (aka Fussy) was showing a very lovely earring holder she’d made and it was full of the prettiest earrings I’ve seen.
I just happened to comment on how much I liked them (and wished I had some) and what does she up and do? Offers to send me a pair. Ooops!!!! That wasn’t in the plan when I left the comment.
I told her she didn’t need to go to all that trouble, especially given I live on the other side of the WORLD. But she wanted to anyway.
Our customs tend to be a little fussy (with good reason at times) so something coming into the country can take it’s sweet little time. BUT, this one arrived JUST in time for Smiley Saturday.
LOOK! The Wrapping Matches my BLOG!!!! That made me SMILE!
Aren’t they purdy???? Beautiful pink bling that I can WEAR!
Here I am wearing them! Princess Singstar came home from school and wanted to know why I was all dressed up!
They make a girl feel very special! Thanks Fussy!
(Mwaahh)
Oh, and talking about special. I had an unexpected visitor at Lightening’s Blogworld this week. It was one of those moments where I didn’t know whether to be excited or mortified. But it did make me smile that someone who is well known in the blogging world with a very successful blog, took the time to pop by and comment after I’d referred to his blog in a post about linking.
A good blogging friend reminded me that well-known bloggers are people too, just like the rest of us.
So, thanks Andy for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment. It made my day (after I got over the shock that is).
Now it’s over to you. Got something that made you smile this week? Perhaps you’d like to share something that’ll make your readers smile. As long as someone is smiling, that’s all that matters. Or everyone smiling is even BETTER.
If you’re new to Smiley Saturday, you can find more information on my “Smiley Saturday” Page.

Oh how very beautiful - especially if they made you feel all spesh.
You have made me smile, as I am going to go through my Saturday looking for things to smile about, so thanks.
I love those earrings! And how kind of Mrs Fussypants. That’s what I love about the blog world: the spontaneous generosity of relative strangers. We share so much of ourselves in a way that’s not always possible in our everyday lives. You have not only received a beautiful gift, you know it’s been sent with the love of someone who intended to make you feel special. Wow!
How perfectly beautiful those earrings are Lightening. You are very blessed indeed!
I am just learning how incredibly spontaneous and generous bloggers are too. I have a beautiful apron about to begin it’s journey to me from Scotland because I mentioned how much I loved it.
YAY! I’m so happy you like them. I love the thought of jewelry that I made being around the globe & spreading some love!
Gorgeous earrings. And how exciting to get an overseas parcel. That’s always good. And even if you’re expecting the parcel, there is still great anticipation when you open it. And how wonderful of Mrs Fussypants to send them.
I’ve done my Smiley Saturday too. Hope I got the links right this time
Lightening, I always enjoy popping by and seeing what you’re up to. It always cracks me when I remember you are on a completely different timezone than I am, so when I see Saturday…, when it’s still Friday here, it makes me laugh.
Sometimes I think I might want to participate in these Smiley Saturdays, with the linky box at the bottom of the posts like yours, but I’m clueless of how to make the box/links etc appear. Maybe I’ll pop on over to the aussie forum and see if it’s written up anywhere. Still learning various things about Wordpress.
Those earrings are so pretty. How exciting for you to receive something so lovely.
I’ve got the purrfect thing for Smiley Saturday but I will wait until it truly is Saturday. Still Friday night here
And it’s hovering around the 0 Celsius mark here! woot!
Gorgeous earrings. Mrs Fussypants is obviously very talented, and very caring.
Wow, how thoughtful of Mrs Fussypants. They look real purdy too !!!
I love the bling, very kind of Mrs Fussypants.
Andy has never forgotten that the most important way of being a part of the blogosphere is to comment and connect with people directly. Hats off to him.
Thanks for your lovely comments everyone. You’ve given me the idea to hold our own little fun swap here on Lightening Online. I think we could have a lot of fun thinking of something to make another smile.
Sueblimely - that’s great of Andy isn’t it. I know popular bloggers are very pushed for time so I understand they can’t always visit and comment on everyone who links to them.
Lin - you can get code for a linky from blenza.com . It’s not all that hard once you know how. That’s if you want to actually start your own meme. If you want to participate in Smiley Saturday you simply write your post and post it on your blog with a link back to my Smiley Saturday post then add your own link (direct to your Smiley Saturday post rather than your homepage) to the linky box here.
Something that made me smile a lot this Saturday is THIS BLOG!!!
I have been having a crappy day with my disabilities playing up and needing extra meds and just feeling grumpy and I read a whole bunch of back posts and I feel MUCH better now! I am also wishing I had spare zucchini now so I could get today’s PA to try some of those lovely recipes everybody suggested. Instead, I am plotting about how to get a windowbox on the kitchen windowsil planted up with chives and parsley and basil so we can have even more fresh herbs in the cooking. A happy thing to think about!
Hugs,

Hey Ricky, glad to know I could make you smile today.
Thanks for spending time reading here. I appreciate it and your feedback. I hope you have a better day tomorrow.
Good morning,

My Little Drummer boys
Hi there - been loving the Smiley’s on other blogs so will be trying to keep up too. Trying being the operative word in my world of procrastination!! Thanks for suggesting such a cool, fun concept.
Maggie - I can’t leave a comment on your blog.
But that lava lamp does look rather lovely. And definitely made me smile! Interesting seeing the different sockets you have for your plugs. I knew overseas had different plugs but wasn’t aware what they looked like!
Kelly - thanks for joining us! We have a GREAT line up this week.
I’m just trying to make my way around to each of them now.
Babyamore - glad you like the calendar!
Lightening, that’s weird that you can’t leave a comment
, I can leave it for you if you like? I had the same thought about the sockets when I was Down Under. I had never seen them with switches. That took some getting use to.
