Sly? I used to make $1 bets with my kids. Bet you can't clean up your room before I finish the dishes. Similar bets with putting away clean laundry, having a bath. I had them totally sucked in.

My great-grandmother made the BEST zucchini bread. Now that she's gone, no one in our family can find the recipe - I'll have to give this one a try.

MMM zuchinni tomato and pumpkins, lol we only have 30 or so pumpkins in the house at the moment. We wont run out of orange vegies this winter lolol, and the tomato glut wont be too far away again either. Unfortunately our zuchinnis didnt take to being overcrowded by sunflowers and didnt like all the rain and rotted at the base of the plant, so we ate our last four zuchinnis in the first week of feb (three tiny ones) and yesterday I had to actually pay for zuchinnis again.

Any chance of some good tomato recipes? I was going to make up a heap of bolognese sauce but DS isn't allowed to have blognese sauce now he has braces, stain your teeth apparently. I guess we could just eat it without him! Anyway. I've made tomato sauce, tomato relish. BTW if you have a bolognese sauce recipe I'd love to see it. Running out of ideas here. ATM I've just been blanching them in hot water to remove the skin and freezing them.

LOL - River, you're a sly mother!!!! Mine aren't all that fond of parsley (other than Leighton who's 10). They WILL eat zucchini though. Sometimes under sufference.

Katie - :) I made the chocolate zucchini bread (cake) today and you'd never know it had zucchini in it! ;) Just need to ice it now.

Trish - I hope your zucchini's do well. :)

Kate - Agreed. I've been peeling, grating, freezing, baking....zucchini today so I'm feeling almost zuked out!!!!!

Lots of great recipes there for me to try.
When my kids were small and spotted bits of zucchini skin I always told them it was parsley. They love parsley so cleaned up their plates. Later when they discovered it was actually zucchini they didn't care since they'd already been eating it for years.

Is this a great time to say how much I hate zucchinis? :P
It's something about the texture that creeps me out. But I love *looking* at them!
