Yesterday
Was “International Internet Free Day”. Apparently.
That is of course why I didn’t post yesterday. Okay. It isn’t really why I didn’t post yesterday. But it’s a good excuse.
I was busy swimming in a friends swimming pool. It was a lovely day. Well, we went to church in the morning. That was lovely too. Of course. A day of catching up with people we haven’t seen much of through the holidays.
Today
The kids are fighting. Over the playstation. And Leighton has decided he hates this family.
It’s just kid talk. I know. It’s still hard to hear though.
Tomorrow
Is the first day back at school. I feel strangely sad about that. Strange because I *was* looking forward to it. At least I *thought* I was. Only now I’m not sure. I miss my kids when they’re not here. Even if at times I wish they weren’t. Guess I’m just as hard to keep happy as my kids are.
So
I’m trying to spend some extra time with them today. Which is hard when they’re grumpy and fighting. *sigh* I’ll be back tomorrow with what I hope is a much more interesting post than this has been.
In the meantime
Don’t forget to mention my bloggy Australia Day Giveaway on forums and online groups. Cos naturally the prizes are so wonderful that EVERYONE will want a chance to enter. Especially if they’re not from Australia. Cos as they say “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure”. Not that my prizes are junk. But you get what I mean. Don’t you?
See Ya Tomorrow.

Jr Stuffy has his first day at school on Thursday. We are both very much looking forward to it. I (finally) get my 9-5 time back and he gets a less stuffy play environment
School????? Already???? Awwww…… you can’t tell me you won’t shed a silent tear or too “StillKindaStuffy”. You can’t have changed THAT much!!!
I don’t know whether it helps, but here’s at least one teacher who’s ready to go back to school as well. Been ready for a week and a half, truth be told. Kids can hold much more interesting and entertaining conversations than adults!
We will have to see
I’ve been kinda snowed under finishing a book and balancing that with parenthood leads to a lot of 19 hour days. Writing is one of those things where a small interruption can mean losing 45 minutes of productive thinking as you try to get your brain back to where it was prior to the interruption - so balancing that with a 5 year old boy can mean you spend more hours at the computer than you might necessarily want to. As now I even spend the wait times his swimming lessons scribbling away on my Tablet PC, less computer time is probably a good thing!
He’s been doing full day childcare two days a week since he was 2 and kinda since he was 3, so it isn’t as though he hasn’t had a chance to get out of the house (or for me to get used to having him out of the house). He’s really looking forward to it and Caulfield Grammar is a great school - they are leaping over backwards with prepatory stuff for the prep-transition.
Also, he hasn’t seen many kids (other than occasional playground romps) over the last 6 weeks, so I think he’s looking forward to being in a group of kids even if it is a totally different group of kids to the ones he’s know at Kinda or the child care center.
Your house will seem strangely empty and quiet for the first couple of days Lightening but I bet they come home and sleep like the proverbial logs at night lol.
you have been busy so it time for rest -when the kids go back to school. Goodluck.
Looking forward to tomorrow and then in a strange kind of way, not.
Hope your day is a good one.
Jayne - I sure hope they do sleep well tonight cos they certainly didn’t go to sleep in a hurry last night. The younger two were excited about school/kindy and the older one excited about his birthday being today. They should certainly be weary tonight!!!
Trish - yeah, I do need a rest. But DD is having a birthday party on Friday after school so might not get much chance until after that!!!!
Tiff - I know exactly what you mean!!!!
