Smiley Saturday

Who would be surprised at my saying that this lovely gift was my top pick for making me smile this week?My kids have sure had a lot to smile about this week. Of course, there was the free lunch at Hungry Jacks.

I was finally able to get a copy of High School Musical for the PS2 Singstar so Singstar Princess was over the moon about that one. I had hoped to get one for Christmas but they sold out pretty much before they hit the stores (other than those that came *with* the microphones).

Leighton has a birthday next week (yes, everyone in our family has their birthdays in Dec/Jan except for me) and received a cheque in the mail. Little did he know that I had picked up a copy of Ricky Ponting’s Cricket for the PS2 on sale (which he then bought with his birthday money). He was quite excited about that.

The Bomb is asking if there is kindy today every morning right now. Not many days left until he can go to kindy again. I can imagine how excited he’s going to be when he gets to go to kindy on the SAME day as the kids go back to school.

We received a beautiful letter from one of our sponsored children yesterday. I really must take the time to respond. It’s one of those things I tend to procrastinate on for far too long. Despite the fact the company tells us how much the kids treasure letters from their sponsors. It still amazes me how much just a few dollars from us can change the lives of not just one child but their whole family. I love the way it reminds me how much we truly have.

Lots to smile about this week. I hope you have something to share too. If you’ve never participated in Smiley Saturday, you can find a bit of an explanation here.

Great reasons to smile. We have two sponsored children *gasp* I should get my son to write them but hard to know what to say.

I have posted twice today so my husband is not smiling but I am. I even combined my Australia day and Smiley Saturday posts.Plus your competition link.

I had a visit from very special friends ! this had me smiling first in anticipation and then when they arrived … I wasn’t smiling to see them go though.

I signed up the free lunch … pity only for little ones. thanks again.

Hi Lightening - I threw one in that we had some fun with at home today. And I see I’m the token male in this little game.
