Jenn’s Den…

…is Pink!!! A nice soft dusky pink. Very soothing. The colour makes me smile. Smile

I love the way she has written her New Year Resolutions in her post Resolutions in Photo’s. A very clever play on words there. A very visual and effective way to portray her goals and focuses for the year.

Her most recent post, Finally, A Sew and Tell, looks fabulous. I’m sure the mother to be will be thrilled with those thoughtful and lovingly made gifts.

To help us get to know the blogger behind the blog, I asked Jenn to answer the following questions. Her responses are detailed below.

1. How did you first hear about the concept of blogging (and how long ago if you can remember)?
It was right after I had my miscarriage about a year and a half ago. I googled something related to miscarriage and ended up on www.alittlepregnant.com - the first time I think I had ever even seen a blog!
The next few days I spent reading through the entire archives and laughing more than I had in a long time.

2. When did you first start blogging?
I started blogging right after I found out I was pregnant the second time, a few months after my miscarriage. By blogging, I was hoping to be able to get some feelings out, things off my chest, etc. And I thought maybe somebody else out there going through the same thing might be helped by reading about my experience like I was when I found www.alittlepregnant.com

3. What is your favourite blog post you’ve ever written?
That is hard! I’ll go with the post about the birth of my daughter, http://jennsden.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

4. Do you have a favourite blog post that you’ve read on another blog?
Oh boy, this is way harder than picking my favorite post I’ve written. There are so many wonderful things I have read by so many wonderful writers I don’t know how I would pick. How about I pick a post I read the other day that made me laugh out loud? http://thepioneerwoman.com/2008/01/cows_and_the_positions_of_classical_ballet.html

5. Can you describe how you feel about blogging?
I love blogging (it can be really addictive!). Knowing that people are interested in what I have to say is such a neat feeling. I also love blogging because I have “met” so many lovely people that I never would have had contact with if it weren’t for blogging. And I just plain love to write. There is just something about the process of writing that can clarify things so well. I love to sit down with an idea or a concept or emotion running around in my head and think and work through it as I write.

6. Has blogging (either writing a blog or reading other blogs) changed you in any way or changed your outlook on life/view of the world?
Definitely. Reading other women’s experiences of pregnancy loss when I was going through the same thing helped me immensely. To see that these women had gone through such a terrible experience and were okay in the end really helped to pull me through a very hard time in my life.
Also, just having a little window into the lives of so many people from around the world is fascinating! It’s so cool to read about the lives and interests of so many different people.

Thanks Jenn for being a part of my “Pay it Forward” give away. I hope you enjoy your “gift”. Smile

Thanks for the lovely write up, Lightening. :) And so funny that you should say that you love the pink, I have been playing with a new design that is blue! Maybe I’ll leave the pink a little while longer, though. :)

It’s your blog Jenn so go ahead and make it how you like. I just like that shade of pink. :) Although, perhaps leave it a week or so so that my readers don’t think I’m going nuts when they read it’s pink then click through to find it isn’t. LOL.
