Goodbye 2007
As we always say at this time of the year “where did that year go?” It’s time to say Goodbye to 2007 and look forward to all the promises that 2008 holds for us.
My highlights of 2007:
* a growing blog readership and some wonderful new friendships as a result
* moving my blog to a self-hosted site (something for my 101 things I thought I’d never do list)
* getting to a point with my depression where I’m able to function pretty much as “normal”. Being able to get out amongst people without it causing me physical pain. It’s amazing how much we take for granted when it comes to our own health isn’t it?
* DH taking a step back in terms of workload - it has been FANTASTIC to have him around more and for him not to be under so much pressure. (Now to find a way that he can do that ALL the time!
)
* Getting our house mortgage paid off!!!
* Succeeding in getting my grocery bills down to $100 a week and keeping it there for 11 months (yeah, December has been a slight blowout but it *might* come back into line over January as I’m well stocked up - we’ll see).
* Starting a vegie garden and EATING from it!
I would like to conclude the year by offering each of my readers the following Irish Blessing:
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I will be here in 2008 for sure. I love your blog and through it feel as though I know you. I find it quite bazaar that I can feel as though I know someone just through a blog. I’m a ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of person, so I tend to think that everyone is like that. Anyway getting side tracked here, I love your blog, find so much of what you write very close to my own story and hope that you will continue into 08 and beyond.
Happy New Year
Lenny

Happy New Year!!
I’m figuring next year has to be better……… but I’ll take all the blessings I can get! lmao
Lenny - thank you so much for your kind comments. I do hope that through my blog you know the true me. That is my intention at least and I will endeavour to continue to be as open and honest as I can.
Veronica - bake at you babe! Hope all your dreams come true this year.
Sandra - thank you. I really appreciate every one of my readers. It’s an honour to walk this journey with each of you. Depression is a rather nasty disease and yet we can (and will) fight back!
Kelley - I love the blessing too!
Ali - thank you. 2007 was tough but good. I’m sure 2008 is going to be great (that doesn’t mean it’ll all be smooth sailing though).
Cat - thank you and to you too!
Bettina - I like to start each year with the belief that it WILL be good. Not every single moment. But if we can grow and learn through the hard times, that makes something good come from them as well. All the best for the coming year.
