Smiley Saturday
It’s that time of the week again. Smiley Saturday.
Firstly, I’d like to thank Darkfaith, Cat and Kez for joining in the inaugural “Smiley Saturday” last week. I really enjoyed reading your Smiley Saturday posts.
If you would like to participate in Smiley Saturday please read the information contained under “Smiley Saturday” in the header bar above. The only criteria really is that you post about something that made you smile or might make your readers smile.
I have had a number of things make me smile this week. So many in fact that I found it hard choosing which I wanted to share with you. I’ve picked out just a few.
1. I received in the mail a card that said “Snail Mail is Friendliest” on the front. Along with a picture of a very cute snail mailman. Sorry I can’t take a photo for you as the camera is currently out of action. Thank you for making me smile LS.
2. I received an email from a friend containing the following. I just love the way kids view the world. They sure have a gift for making people smile.
3-year-old Reese:
“Our Father, Who does art in heaven,
Harold is His name.
Amen.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little boy was overheard praying:“Lord, if you can’t make me a better boy, don’t worry about it. I’m having a real good time like I am.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One particular four-year-old prayed,“And forgive us our trash basketsas we forgive those who put trash in our baskets.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they
were on the way to church service,
“And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?”
One bright little girl replied,
“Because people are sleeping.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.
The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.
Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.
“If Jesus were sitting here, He would say,
‘Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.’”
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said,
“Ryan, you be Jesus!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A father was at the beach with his children
when the four-year-old son ran up to him,
grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore
where a seagull lay dead in the sand.
“Daddy, what happened to him?” the son asked.
“He died and went to Heaven,” the Dad replied.
The boy thought a moment and then said,
“Did God throw him back down?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A wife invited some people to dinner.
At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said,
“Would you like to say the blessing?”
“I wouldn’t know what to say,” the girl replied.
“Just say what you hear Mommy say,” the wife answered.
The daughter bowed her head and said,
“Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think this part was my most favourite part of the email though:
And if you don’t send this to at least 8 people —– who cares?!
Peace, love and happiness
What a refreshing change from those horrible emails that threaten dire consequences if you don’t forward on. Anyway, I hope they made you smile.
Now it’s your turn. Don’t forget to link back here and add your post to the Mr Linky below. If you don’t have your own blog, feel free to share your own “Smiley Saturday” in the comments section. Thanks for taking part.
hi i have tagged you for a meme over at http://nbeltane.blogspot.com/
lolol -great idea!
Smiley Saturday- What an awesome concept! I practice ‘gratitude’ daily, but don’t blog about it. Maybe I should! The way it works is every night, before I fall asleep, is think about all the things I’m grateful for. It’s a bit like a positive version of counting sheep! Good on you, hope it catches on!
Nicole - thanks, I will get to that soon…
Bettina -
thanks for joining in.
Tracey - welcome. Glad you enjoy the concept.
What a great way to finish each of your days.
DD and I went out for dinner last night - just the 2 girls. That made me smile.
Hi Kim - I look forward to your post next week. Hopefully we’re all still smiling when it gets that close to Christmas!!!
Desertqueen - that’s a wonderful idea and something I really want to do with my children as they get older. Thanks so much for sharing it.
I’m a bit late this week but better late than never.
I know that this saturday i will need to look for things to make me smile as DH and Sonic will be away house sitting so i’ll be lonely for 4 days.
Definitely better that than never Darkfaith.
I hope your week goes quickly for you.
