Knitting Projects
I have finally finished off a few of the projects I’ve had on the go recently. AND I have managed, with some help from both Snoskred and Meg (thank you both) to get some pictures into this post that don’t resemble the plant from “Little Shop of Horrors”. Remember that plant that grew so big it took over the shop? Wel, that’s what my photo’s were doing to my blog!!!! Aaaaaarrrrrhhhhhh….. But I think we’re on the right track now. Phew! If you’d like to see a larger version of the photo, simply click on it and it will take you to a page where the photo is a little bit easier to see without the aid of a magnifying glass.
The first one is the felted bags I made for my nieces with the knifty knitter. I have now completely finished them including purchasing their contents. Now to wrap them and send them off in time for Christmas.
Each bag contains:
- a new handkerchief
- foldable brush with mirror
- notepad
- barbie gel pen
- bracelet
- lip gloss
- large packet of lifesavers
Hopefully a good mix of practical and fun things. I hope my nieces get as much fun from them as I have had making them!
This one is my first EVER knitting needle project that isn’t a basic square or rectangle!
I’ve done a few dishcloths using the needles and found some wool and a pattern book for dolls clothes in the op shop so I had a go at this project. I have to admit I’m VERY happy with how it has turned out. It’s amazing the things we can learn to do when we just have enough faith in ourselves to give it a try.
Hopefully DD will really enjoy getting this for Christmas, knowing that I made it especially for her. I had planned to knit a couple of outfits but underestimated how many hours it would take knitting on such thin needles as I did with this project. There are a LOT of hours in this little dress. But also a lot of LOVE.

The felt bags look wonderful, what a great idea. I feel I have left it too late to make anything like that now! Maybe I could start now for next year LOL !!! Love your new blog, mine is SO basic, I would love to put some music to mine, but can’t work it out!
sweet!!
I’m sure the bags will go down a treat! You must be the favourite Aunty with pressies like those!
The dress is lovely too.
What a clever girl you are!
Hi Jill and thank you.
On a knifty knitter they don’t take very long to knit up. But now is probably a GREAT time to start for next year! There never seems to be enough time to get made all that we’d like to.
Can’t help you with the music I’m afraid.
Bettina - oohh favourite aunty????? That would be nice!!!! Not that I’m competitive or anything! LOL. Actually I haven’t even seen these nieces for nearly 18 months.
Hopefully we’ll get over to see them next year some time.
Madly Saving - thank you.
I’m sure the your nieces will LOVE the felted bags and goodies in them, and you’re clever knitting the dolls dress
btw - did you see that I moved my blog?
So strange…I’m SURE I commented this morning but it’s not showing?
So cute, especially the doll dress!
Hand-made gifts are the best kind over Christmas and birthdays and it looks like you have put so much effort and love into them! I also wanted to add that I love the new site (and the Christmas tree widget, so cute!) and I’ve added you to my blogroll. And nice choice in colours - the fuchsia/magenta pink is my absolute FAVOURITE colour in the world!
Ali - the dolls dress was easier than I expected. I guess like with all things, you just follow along 1 step at a time. There are still a LOT of knitting terms I don’t understand though.
Bettina - I saw the message that said you were moving but haven’t had a chance to visit yet. This week is flat out - but I promise I’ll come soon. Thanks for checking that I knew about it.
Cat - I’m sorry, I can’t find what happened to your comment. It’s not in the moderation queue or in the spam folder. Perhaps something happened as it was publishing. Thanks for taking the time to leave another one.
Katie - thank you so much! I love the colours too.
Thanks for adding me to your blogroll too. It’s MUCH appreciated. I’m sorry about the contact page. This is all so new and I’m struggling to learn how to do things. Hopefully I have it up soon. Comments are moderated only for the first comment so from now on your comments should come straight through. Great idea to mention that in my comments blurb. I just have to figure out how to do that too!
I just figured out this week that I can resize my pix in the window where I “send to editor” theres actually a box to work with. It’s awkward - but it works.
