Introducing…..Smiley Saturday

I have decided I’m going to have a go at hosting one of these memes.  Now I have absolutely NO idea what I’m doing here (how unusual lol) but I figure the best way for me to learn it to give it a go.  And given that one of the things I love to do is see people smile, I thought this “Smiley Saturday” was a good place to start.

 So, how do you play?  The rules are simple:

1.  Somehow flog the image I’ve included here.  I’m still learning about images on wordpress so if someone would like to enlighten me here on an easier way to do things, please do.Cool  You should be able to right click and “save as” I think.

2.  Write a post that somehow relates to smiling.  It could be a joke, a funny story, a funny photo,  a funny video etc.  Or it could be sharing something that you did that made someone smile.  Or something that someone else did for you that made you smile.  Anything related to smiling and being happy really!

3.  Link to your post using the “Mr Linky” that is hopefully below.  Please use the URL for the page your post is on rather than linking to your blog so that people reading this later can find your actual post.

4.  Link back to http://www.lighteningonline.com somewhere within your post.

And that’s IT!  Simple really! Smile  Now it’s Saturday evening that I’m writing this post (been a busy day) so you may not read this until Sunday.  If you still want to “play” this week - please do.  I don’t really want an empty linky.  LOL.  And be ready next Saturday when Mr “Smiley Saturday” Linky will hopefully put in another appearance.

    Good luck with it babe. I have never signed up for these things cause I am not disciplined enough. I will forget. As as you know my blog is mainly just massive brain dumps on the spur of the moment.

    But it sounds like a fun idea and I hope it brings in the links for you!

    You don’t have to sign up Kelley. If you have a post that “fits” (ha, ha - like EVERY post for you) you just come along and enter it into Mr Linky and anyone who needs a laugh or a feel good story can come and read. But then, they probably already know where to go to get a laugh from you. :-)

    My DS made me smile tonight - well actually I laughed. He wanted to know if he needed to use cornflower or cauliflower to make slime from his science experiment book. When I reminded him that cauliflower is in fact a vegetable (a species he is not all that familiar with) he laughed too. Hope this makes you smile too

    i stumbled across your blog while researching ways to cut my grocery bill and have loved reading all your posts. Smiley saturday is a wonderful idea, everyone loves to smile and i’m looking forward to seeing what everyone else is smiling about his week.

    Desertqueen - that’s great! Thank you for sharing. :-) I’m glad he’s someone that can laugh at himself too. That’s a skill in itself and very important. It’s taken us a while to teach our almost 10 year old that it’s good to laugh at your mistakes. We all make them!!!

    I stumbled here earlier and have been poking around for a bit, seems to be a lively place to visit! I’m not all about posting things (that is if its not on my myspace page) but wanted to say thanks to you for the great info, tips, and ideas….as well as all those who do post and link to you. I’m lazy and never bothered to learn how! Hope your holidays are as wonderful as ur page!
